Hello I'm Ugo :)

I'm an easy-going French traveller with great energy.

I'm a product designer and I'm on a gap year to explore and understand the world without flying.

After crossing the Atlantic on a sailboat as a crew member, I've been in Trinidad for a week now.

Most of the time, I sleep in my hammock outside (jungle, beach, bush...).

I want to visit Tobago and make myself useful.

I have lots of different skills. My best skills are handyman and cooking. And I'm empathic person with very good interpersonal skills.

I am a respectful and smiling person.
In my spare time I write my travel and life stories in my notebook. Because I love the sea, I dive and swim whenever possible.
I love nature and helping to preserve it as much as possible. I play guitar, love animals and gardening.

I speak fluent French and English
and I'm beginning to feel confident in Spanish.

For over 6 months, I've been meeting lot of people and, in some cases, living with them for varying lengths of time.
These have always been fantastic moments and powerful human connections.

By the way, I've never volunteered through an application before.
But it seems to suit me perfectly.
That's why I want to offer you the best of myself and I look forward to meeting you and bring you my happiness.

Handyman:
Because I'm a product designer and woodworker, I can design and make things and I can find solutions to fix many problems.
I have a basic knowledge of electricity.
Because I have a motorbike, I have some basic mechanical knowledge.

Relationships:
I'm very good at making pleasant contacts with people. I have a good understanding of problems and a smiling attitude.
For example, I was a receptionist in a hotel in Nantes, France.
I've also volunteered with blind people to help them travel. So I know a lot about disabilities. In fact, I wrote my thesis on the subject.

Cooking:
I'm French so I have a culture of good food, but I love cooking different dishes and discovering local recipes.
I cooked on the boats where I sailed for 2 months.

Pets and garden:
I've had three dogs in the family and I really love of all animals.
My grandfather was a farmer and I grew up with my father in the countryside.

Graphic design; art; digital tools; photography:
Linked to design with my art history studies and applied art practice I'm also good at making art projects, graphics, etc.
I have a good command of computers.
I can model easily if I have Solidworks software.
I also have a sharp eye and, as a result of my many travels, have developed a fine command of digital and film photography.

Learning and listening:
I am able to be flexible and to master and understand the new tasks I have to accomplish.

I smoke and drink just litle bit mainly during week-end.
I love board games. Even classical like Checkers. Card game etc...
Because my sister has 3 children and Im godfather of the first one I know about kids, babies and I love draw or play with them.
