  • Description

We are Tracey and Tim who are now free to experience the workaway life! Our children are grown and we are both on a mission to learn more about people and the world we live. We are both hard working, committed and efficient in our own areas of expertise. Having worked in the travel industry for 20 years, I (Tracey) changed careers to raise our children and have been in primary school education for 18 years and I am also a fundraiser for The Woodland Trust. Tim has been in the construction industry as a bricklayer for 30+ years but for the last 6 months has had a change and worked as a Conservation & Habitat Restoration Operative on the moors of the Pennines. We are keen nature lovers and love animals. Although we no longer have any pets, we share our friend's and family's dogs. Our other big love is the Arts. We sing in a choir, Tim is a musician and artist and I appreciate anything beautiful and artistic! We would love to share our combined skills together as well as learn new ones and look forward to meeting some of you in the future!

  • More details about your skills

Tracey - I am very much a people person and have worked with the general public all of my working life. I was in the travel industry for 20 years which I loved and had various positions working up to management. I was fortunate enough to travel to some very interesting, fascinating destinations, meeting wonderful hosts and colleagues around the world.
After having our children I started a career in education. Where I am a school business assistant and teaching assistant. Here I have gained invaluable experiences working with teachers, support staff, children, parents and in fact everyone who walks through our doors!
I am passionate about nature and wildlife and am also a fundraiser for The Woodland Trust and a volunteer for Peak Park Conservation Volunteers, and a member of the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust. I recently became a member and volunteer for Butterfly Conservation where I monitor Butterfly numbers.
I am now ready and in a position to share my abilities and experiences to anyone, anywhere and make a positive contribution to your projects or working life and I look forward learning new skills and to making new friends along the way!
Tim - I am a practical person and enjoy being creative. I've worked in construction for 37 years, mainly as a bricklayer but also as a heritage fixer/pointer mason. During that time I have managed my own jobs and mentored apprentices, always having to work within industry standards and to health and safety regulations.
I've had a life long love of nature and am a volunteer for Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust, Peak Park Conservation Volunteers and Moors for the Future. Last year I took a career leap and became a Habitat Restoration Operative, putting my practical skills to use in helping to restore degraded peatland in the Pennines.
I have reached a point where I would like to take my skills and experience further afield and use them in a positive way.

  • What else ...

We love being outdoors and go hill walking as often as we can but equally enjoy a walk in the woods and fields. Music is also important to us. Tim is a musician and plays guitar and writes his own songs and we both sing in a modern day choir which we absolutely love!
Tim likes creating art in different ways and we both appreciate art in all it's forms.
I enjoy pilates , yoga, photography.
We love to explore! From our back yard to the rest of the world!
We truly believe in connecting with people and the philosophy of "you're never too old to learn!!"
