Hello there!
My name is Thorsten, I am 33 years old and from Germany. I am currently in my sabbatical year, taking a break from being a teacher at a secondary school for English and Sports. I'm very excited to have a full year to travel and to get to know more cultures, new people and have unique experiences!
I consider myself an open-minded, relaxed and funny person. I like to listen to a lot of music and do all kinds of sports. I also enjoy reading and I love to be outside in nature.

I love to learn local languages, depending on where I am. It is always a pleasure to see the positive reactions when people realize that you are putting in some effort. Speaking English is usually easiest for me in most places. Since I have been teaching it in school for years, I am happy to share some of my knowledge in this area.

My biggest skill is to interact with people, no matter if children, teenagers and adults. I love to teach, but I am capable of organizing and coordinating in different kinds of environments. As a teacher you naturally have to be able to work independently, which also comes in handy. Besides that I'm quite good with computers and gadgets, so I can help with various technical difficulties. In terms of household chores, I am a very systematic and conscientious person. I have also worked in a bar for 3 years, which I really liked to do, and I'm always open to do again. In my year of alternative service I looked after physically handicapped children during class. Altough I wouldn't consider myself a craftsman at all, I did help on a construction assembly for one summer. I'm generally a fast and keen learner, so I look forward to acquiring new skills.
