Description

Hi, my name is Thomas Bennett, I am 25 year old human from England, currently living in Australia! I’ve spent a prolonged period of my adult life on the road, privileged enough to experience many thing! Across Asia, Europe & Oceania, I have partaken in community living, rural school teaching, animal care, permaculture farming, and more.



I’ve come to acquire a healthy understanding of who I am, what I need from life, and the (general) direction of where I’m going. I would describe myself as a joyful and thoughtful soul, keen to expand my understanding. I have a passion for nature, the universe, and love sharing stories, ideas and laughter with similar minds.

My last few Workaways have been permaculture farms, and have given me an introduction into cob wall building and gardening. Although there is still a lot I can learn, it is a path in which I have already began to walk. I'm also really keen to learn about woodwork and construction, so would jump at the opportunity to be taught about them.

To me, all life should be treated with love, whether that is a human, cow, or a cockroach. Because of this, I am vegetarian, aspiring to become vegan (eventually). I like to think that no being has any more right to this Earth than we do. All creatures are my friends, although perhaps mosquitos have a tendency to make their way into my bad books! Perhaps there is a lesson that can be found in that haha :)

In recent months, experiences have taught me that I want to pursue a more self dependent life. One where I only require alignment with myself, the people around me, and the land. I am realising that the way western life is lived, is not sustainable. In light of these discoveries, I am looking to invest more of my energy into sustainability, building, and connection with people who share these views!

Because I am not under any time restrictions or commitments, I may want to stay longer in some destinations if I find that I am happy and it works for everyone else too. I will always commit to the minimum time I have provided. I take a lot of pride in following through with what I have promised.
