  • Description

    Andrew:
Growing up on a small farm in Western Pennsylvania I couldn't help but fall in love with the outdoors, animals, and adventure. From a young age my Mother worked hard to also introduce my siblings and me to different parts of the country, and later the world. I love to meet new people and to try different work experiences. I have done work exchange on a popular Organic Farm in Illinois and Pennsylvania. I have also worked seasonally in Montana as a driver and on a Working Guest Ranch. I have participated in Workaway experienced in New Hampshire, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands and am familiar with the process of adapting and excelIing to new environments. I would love the opportunity to travel to some new locations and offer my various skills to help others manifest their dreams, while continuing to build my skills and ideas for my own future. I am a certified Rescue Diver with a deep desire to pursue my Dive Master and onward. In recent months I have had a reinvigorated interest in Mindfulness and Meditation and would love to pursue some paths in locations building communities that also support these ideas. However, I am open to all ideas and lifestyles.

    Natalie:
I grew in a small town in Wisconsin where many people have never left the state let alone the town. In college, I met people from all over and I was so fascinated. I always dreamed of being able to explore and learn more about the world, I just never knew how to begin. Skip ahead 5 years and I finally had enough, I researched how to travel, found workaway, applied to a few places, then booked a one way ticket to the Virgin Islands. That was the best, most amazing experience, that I have ever given myself. I learned so much about everything, from culture, to new foods, to dances, to plants and wildlife, and so much more. Not to mention, I learned so much about myself. Traveling will always be a part of me now and I am so eager about exploring more parts of the world.
I am currently a certified yoga instructor and have experience in teaching/education. While in the Virgin Islands, I learned about construction jobs such as grouting or grinding countertops but I want to learn more. While traveling, I would love to learn a new language, how to garden and cook, and how to become the best version of myself.

  • More details about your skills

Andrew: While my early career ventures gravitated towards agriculture, I have since been gaining experience and interest in Hospitality and Service as well. I have done Work Trade for Angelic Organics, started a CSA project with a partner in Pennsylvania, and also built and maintained Nutrient Flow Tables for a hydroponic greenhouse that grew basil and other greens. These positions have left me with a love for hands on, hard work such as weeding, planting, harvesting, basic carpentry and other physical tasks! Working for a Guest Ranch, A family AirBNB in a Ntl Park, and as a bartender at a Taphouse have helped me build my repertoire in everything from Customer Service to House Keeping. I love to problem solve, get my hands dirty, and to learn as much as I possibly can. Through workaway experiences I have learned more about Composting, Construction, renovation, Basic plumbing, masonry, tiling and grouting. I have worked with Coral treatment and natural pest treatment and many other adaptive tasks. I really enjoy cooking and discovering foods from around the world. Fermentation in the form of Kombucha brewing, sour dough bread making, lacto fermentation of vegetables, and nut cheese fascinates me. Light mechanic work on both cars and motorcycles is a skill I am constantly trying to to expand on. I love repairing, rebuilding and replacing basic components on vehicles to achieve a safe and reliable result.
