Description

We're Thor and Freya, a couple who've spent the past few years exploring the world together. Our ideal days blend outdoor adventures—hiking mountain trails, catching waves while surfing, or simply reading with a stunning view—with meaningful cultural connections.

We recently took the leap to quit our jobs and are currently traveling through South America. While we love the freedom of being on the road, we're eager to slow down, volunteer, and truly immerse ourselves in local communities and cultures.

Thor thrives on balance. He enjoys intellectual challenges (he's worked as a programmer and loves problem-solving) but is equally energized by physical work and sports. Whether it's tackling a coding project or carrying all the water on a hike just for the workout, he's always up for staying active and useful.

Freya is passionate about cultural exchange and loves diving into new experiences. She's particularly drawn to tennis and yoga, and she's always curious to learn local customs, languages, and ways of life.

We're reliable, enthusiastic, and genuinely excited to contribute to your project while learning from you. We see Workaway as an opportunity not just to help out, but to form real connections and gain a deeper understanding of the places we visit.

We both graduated in computer science and ended up working as a software engineer in small startups.

Thor likes to help his parents in the vegetable garden at home, and has worked as a waiter at a restaurant for some time.

Freya has also worked as a waitress for some bit, and has done quite some house and pet setting together with Thor sometimes.

As for languages, we are both native dutch speakers and fluent in english. Freya is also fluent in Spanish and Thor has been learning for 3 years, his level is conversational.
