Hello! We are Laura & Alex, a friendly and motivated couple excited to be part of the Workaway community.

About Laura:
Hi! I’m Laura, a 34-year-old Lithuanian who loves nature, hiking, reading, and—most importantly—food! Cooking is my passion, and I’m always excited to experiment with new flavors and recipes.

I have strong customer service skills from years of working in restaurants and call centers, so I’m great with people and love creating a welcoming atmosphere. I also grew up in the countryside, which means I’m no stranger to farm work and being around animals—I’ve always had a soft spot for them!

About Alex:
And I’m Alex, a 29-year-old French adventurer who’s always happy to work and wear a smile! I love staying active (I run regularly) and take pride in working hard, whether it's physical labor or digital tasks. My work experience is pretty diverse—I’ve done farm work, housekeeping, delivery jobs, and even digital work.

Traveling has been a big part of my life. I’ve explored India, Australia, and Thailand before moving to England, where I worked for five years. That’s also where I met Laura—the best thing I found in England (and no, it wasn’t the weather).

About Us
We’ve been together for over four years now, which is either because of Laura’s incredible cooking or Alex’s French charm—we’re still debating that one! 😆 What we do know is that we make a great team, both in life and in work.

¡Hola! Soy Laura, una lituana de 34 años a quien le encanta la naturaleza, el senderismo, la lectura y, sobre todo, la comida. ¡Cocinar es mi pasión! Siempre estoy emocionada de experimentar con nuevos sabores y recetas.

Tengo una gran experiencia en atención al cliente gracias a años de trabajo en restaurantes y call centers. Me encanta trabajar con personas y crear un ambiente acogedor. Además, crecí en el campo, por lo que estoy acostumbrada a las tareas agrícolas y al cuidado de los animales—¡siempre he tenido una gran debilidad por ellos!

Y yo soy Alex, un aventurero francés de 29 años que siempre está feliz de trabajar y llevar una sonrisa en el rostro. Me encanta mantenerme activo (corro regularmente) y me enorgullezco de trabajar duro, ya sea en tareas físicas o digitales. Tengo una experiencia laboral bastante variada: he trabajado en granjas, limpieza, reparto y también en el ámbito digital.

Viajar ha sido una gran parte de mi vida. He explorado India, Australia y Tailandia antes de mudarme a Inglaterra, donde trabajé durante cinco años. Y fue allí donde conocí a Laura—lo mejor que encontré en Inglaterra (y no, no fue el clima 😆).

Sobre Nosotros
Llevamos más de cuatro años juntos, lo que se debe o bien a la increíble cocina de Laura o al encanto francés de Alex—¡aún estamos debatiéndolo! 😆 Lo que sí sabemos es que hacemos un gran equipo, tanto en la vida como en el trabajo.

More details about my language interests
We are both fully fluent in English, and Laura is bilingual and could teach it. Alex also speaks some Spanish and can understand it quite well already. One of our goals during our travels is to improve our Spanish even further—we’re both eager learners and love immersing ourselves in new languages and cultures. Since we come from different backgrounds, we can also speak French and Lithuanian. ----- Ambos hablamos inglés con fluidez, y Laura es bilingüe y podría enseñarlo. Alex también habla algo de español y lo entiende bastante bien. Uno de nuestros objetivos durante nuestros viajes es mejorar aún más nuestro español; somos aprendices entusiastas y nos encanta sumergirnos en nuevos idiomas y culturas. Como venimos de diferentes orígenes, también hablamos francés y lituano.

We love board games—Catan, cards, and chess are some of our favorites! Reading and spending time in nature are also things we really enjoy. Laura has a passion for photography, always looking to capture beautiful moments, while Alex has a strong love for basketball, having played for more than 10 years. We’re always up for learning new games, exploring the outdoors, and sharing our interests with others!
