Hi there!
My name is Tess, very nice to e-meet you!
My background is in environmental conservation. I have mostly done communication and community-related projects but I studied (Social) Business Innovation in Amsterdam. I mostly worked at (local and international) NGOs and social businesses.
In my free time, I love being outdoors. I also love ecstatic dance, read, write, spend time deepening the relationship I am in and cooking. I used to love slacklining and would love to practice again! I love learning about cultural topics and have spent a lot of time in different countries like the Netherlands, Mexico, Uganda, Suriname and Colombia. I am an open-minded human and love exploring new things and meeting new people. I have spent a lot of time with horses in my life and it looks like life is once again steering me in their direction.
Recently, I completed a 6 month course about ecovillage design and did a Permaculture Design Certification. Now, I am ready to dive deeper and just started an online year-long program on Permaculture Design. I am very excited to be back on Workaway (I've done two before) and learn a lot more.
When it comes to my interests for a workaway: I am very excited to experience more community living and learn a lot more about permaculture design, syntropic food forests, natural building, and water filtration. I would love to spend a lot more time with my hands in the earth than I have been. I'm also very open to more creative projects. I am considering starting a learning journey in Equine Assisted Learning (coaching with horses) and in that case it would be amazing to have horses closeby. Also if I'm not doing that, I love working with horses always!
I know myself as an enthusiastic, open, eager to learn and very much passion driven. Besides that, like my time and space to ground and reflect. Both a remote lifestyle as well as a community-based lifestyle work well for me :) I am very flexible and definitely don't need luxury. To me it is very important to always be learning something new so this is also what I am hoping to find in future Workaway experiences!
I will dedicate myself to learning for a whole year, starting March 2025, with no specific locations planned. Please feel free to reach out, let's connect!
