**Currently traveling around in Ireland**
Hey there, future host or travel buddy! I'm Tessa. An ever-learning and ever-curious creative.
You can find me building stuff -not just physical stuff-, but also meaningful relationships, new experiences, and communities.
As a creative, I'm driven to make any situation work and come up with imaginative ideas. I thrive in environments filled with warmth, mutual respect, and enthusiastic engagement.
In the past eight years, I've finished two studies and worked several odd jobs. Now I'm looking to explore beyond my boundaries and to contribute to initiatives which make the world a better place. How small or how big they may be. I'm always curious to learn new things and see new places!
I'm new to workaway, but I'm not new to volunteering! I've volunteered in hospitality settings, creative projects, building projects and social projects. I adapt fast to new environments and am always ready to lend a helping hand :)Interests

I'm hoping to learn new languages during my travels! Can you teach me yours? I love sharing the fun of language exchange with others. I’ll always try to learn the language of the country or the family that I’m visiting. Nothing brings me more joy than understanding the verbal soul of the community. I'm available to teach Dutch (my mother tongue) and English. Though, I'm not a trained professional.Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

More details about your skills
I have skills in all sorts of fields! I’ve experience with DIY projects, tinkering, house maintenance, working in hospitality, pet sitting, cooking, plumbing, simple construction work, painting, gardening and woodworking. Just to name a few :)
Sure, I’m definitely not the strongest or tallest person around, but I’ll make sure to find a creative solution to get the job done anyways. I always bring a blend of curiosity and skill, eager to learn and contribute wherever I can.
Oh and I’m great at fixing bicycles! A useful perk that comes with riding one 365 days a year.
Creatively, I’m a jack of all trades (and master of none?).
I’ve been dancing all my life and I’m always happy to share the joy of movement. Photography is one of my passions as well. I worked briefly as a concert photographer and would love to gain more experience in any sort of photography and/or help people with documenting their projects.
I can also help you with building or updating a simple website, editing a video or photo, or anything computer related!
You can also find me behind the sewing machine. Mending and sewing clothes is hugely important to me as I’m aware of the impact fast and disposable fashion has on the world and I’m trying to do my bit to not make it any worse.
Through Workaway stays, I'm hoping to learn more about gardening, botany and DIY/crafting techniques and in-depth animal care. Moreover, I'm excited to learn about your way of living, local knowlegde, customs and rituals, your cultural heritage and the history of the land. I would love meet someone who has knowledge about foraging as well.Age

What else ...
This might be somewhat “off the record”, but I do want to put this out here.
Through my creative studies and personal experiences, I developed a profound interest and passion for the experience of grief. I was surprised by how deeply connecting grief can be, especially coming from a culture where it is often ostracized. I have researched, developed, and worked in grief counseling, and I feel a strong desire to share this knowledge with others, if they are open to it.
I believe that everyone carries grief, and I find beauty in carrying it together. Sharing stories of grief is one of the most powerful things in life I’ve ever come across, and I want to share the experience.
- If this is not your cup of tea, that's totally fine as well! I'm just putting it out there in case someone resonates with these experiences. -Some more information

There was plenty to do in the garden and the studio, and I liked the mix of both indoor and outdoor work: weeding, building the greenhouse, doing the dishes, clearing the studio/garden and working on… read more
