Description
I am a freelance journalist from India. I started my career in journalism in 1990 as a Mumbai Correspondent of a regional Marathi daily. Gradually, I moved to English newspaper. From 2006 to 2014, I was with the Reuters, an international news agency.
I have written one book in Marathi on life and works of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I translated two books into Marathi-- 21 Lessons for 21st Century by Yuval Noha Harari and Free Voice by Ravish Kumar.
I have written a book on Monsoon, exploring the cultural and political dimensions of Indian Summer Monsoon. The book is in Marathi and would be published soon. My another book-- In the country of Gaba is also under publication. In this book I have explored the reality of Colombia as depicted in the works of Gabriel Garcia Marquez and how it has been reflected in the contemporary life of Colombia. This book is also in Marathi.
I love to travel and explore new cultures. Marathi is my first language, second language is Hindi . My knowledge of English is of intermediate level. I am a fairly good cook and love cooking Indian food, particularly Kashmiri, Punjabi, Maharashtrian.
I am interested in exploring contemporary religious life in different cultures, particularly eastern Europe.
I would like to get associated with activities like farming, gardening and education. And of course family life.
I am developing a short course for visual cognition for the students. It consists of different games and puzzles. It is to train right side of the brain.
My flip side-- I am 63 years old and enjoy intelligent conversation. Moreover, I can't drive any vehicle on land, water or air.Interests
