Hello,
We're Benoît and Galaxie, a French couple who've taken on the challenge of discovering the culture and land of West Africa during a 1-year trip.
We cycled across Spain, then sailed to Cape Verde, before heading back to dry land in Senegal and finally will go up the African coast to Morocco. Out of our ecological convictions and as part of an overall approach to sobriety, we want to use as much environmentally-friendly transport as possible, by bicycle, sailing boat and public transport.
Throughout the trip, we'll be stopping off at volunteer sites to help local people with their projects and to discover the history and culture of the area.
You will find below a more precise description of our two characters.
We're very curious and open-minded by nature, so we'd love to meet you and help you with your projects.
[Galaxie] Hello, my name is Galaxie, I'm 22 years old, I'm a musician (oboe and singing), sporty, very sociable, very adaptable and full of energy!
My passion for music has led me to turn this trip towards discovering the traditional music of each country we pass through, and I'd be delighted to take part if that's possible :))
As far as sport is concerned, I ride horses a lot and would be delighted to look after them if you have any (which works for all animals, by the way).
Finally, I particularly enjoy listening to everyone's stories, I love learning from others and I love helping. This is what drives me to make this trip an experience in the service of others, determined to help with your personal or other projects.
So, I look forward to seeing you, listening to you and sharing new experiences with you 😊
[Benoît] Hello, I'm 24 years old, from the south-west of France, and I'm passionate about sport and outdoor activities: climbing, hiking, cycling, sailing and more.
I grew up with the philosophy of being resourceful, and I'm very curious by nature: always on the lookout for new things to learn. I'd particularly like to learn about permaculture and agroecology.
Cooking is also one of my great passions. During the trip, I'd love to learn about and share local culinary specialities. In my opinion, cooking is an incredible way of sharing: both in the preparation and in the tasting.
I've been overwhelmed by some of my workaway experiences. I've just finished my studies and I want to get back into the world of volunteering to meet new incredible people, take part in new fantastic projects and discover new cultures.
Thanks for reading, and see you soon ;)Interests
