Description
Hello! I recently graduated high school in the United States and am taking a year off before I study Neuroscience at university to travel. My goal is to gain global perspective and learn in a hands-on way. I am open and excited to do anything! My favorite part of travel is meeting people and making connections with people of all ages and backgrounds. I grew up hearing stories my father told me of his travel and have been fortunate enough to travel to Thailand, Peru, France and Italy. I am extremely enthusiastic about life, spontaneity and getting after it, whether I'm on the road or at home. So far on my gap year I have traveled extensively in Spain. I have experience working and staying with a family as an Au Pair, in addition to other skills I can provide, as described below. I cannot wait to meet you and integrate into your world!
Fun Fact: The pictures of food are some of my families traditional dishes for Thanksgiving that I made for the family hosting me in Spain. pecan pie, blueberry pie, garlic butter turkey, green beans almondine, and mashed potatoes.

Farming/ Animals:
I have grown up raising chickens and meat rabbits, as well as growing a garden. I can lift heavy feed bags and am comfortable with physical activity as well as getting my hands dirty. I have mucked stalls at a horse barn and am overall comfortable around animals large and small. I also have a cat and dog, I know how to clicker train dogs and believe in positive reinforcement when training. Skills: feeding, watering, grooming, moving livestock, weeding, planting, pruning, harvesting.
Children:
I worked as an Au Pair in Spain for 2 and a half months. The kids were 3 months old, three years old and six years old. I am comfortable with older kids as well and understand working with kids of different abilities while navigating any language barriers. I love kids, and have grown up with a younger brother and cousins. Skills: prepping food, playing, changing diapers, helping with schoolwork, teaching basic English.
Customer Service/ Digital:
I have been employed for the past year at a flower shop (florist). Upon request I can provide a recommendation from my employer. My job duties included processing flowers, cleaning, making bouquets, answering phones, and helping customers. Additionally, I have made flyers and printable advertisements in the past for the shop and my graphic design abilities can be adapted to fit your needs.
Cleaning/ Housekeeping:
I was raised helping out with daily chores such as laundry, dishes, vacuuming etc. I pick up after myself and leave a clean space behind after I work.

A little bit about me:
I love yoga, dance, snowboarding and being active in general. I did Irish dance for 5 years and would love to learn different styles of dance in the future. Some other things I am interested in are philosophy, art, homesteading and anything you would like to share! Currently I am exploring acrylic paint. Small fun facts: I can make a fantastic Mac and Cheese, I journal all of my travels, and I have placed in a welding art competition. I am very open to new foods and ways of life beyond my own and I can't wait to learn about yours.
