My name is Sjoerd Dreijer, I am 18 years old and live in the Netherlands. I live with both of my parents and two siblings, I have an older sister (21) and an older brother (23). I was born in a small town called Enkhuizen, I have lived here all my life. Luckily for me, I was born with very adventurous parents, they have taken me all over the world. This means I already have some backpacking and travelling experience. This has taught me a lot about cultures from around the world such as China, Mexico and many European countries. Travelling as a family for longer periods of time were of course challenging at times, but it gave me beautiful memories I will never forget.

After my final exams, I am taking a gap year. This is because I would like travel and work around Australia. I am a social, positive and happy guy who likes to meet people and explore new places. I have chosen Australia because of the people and the beautiful landscape. I hope this experience will teach me more about the world, while getting to know myself better.

I am a hard working person who likes to cook and play soccer. I have worked in the kitchen of a beer brewery for 3 years, starting off as a dishwasher and working my way up to be a chef. This has taught me a lot about working hard and being a teamplayer. This is something I will take with me for the rest of my life, and hope to show while working in Australia. As far as a teamplayer, I have played soccer all my life, making new friends and learning new skills while having a lot of fun.
