Hi there! My name is Simone and I'm a 26-year-old woman from The Netherlands. I recently decided to take a break from my career in the Music Industry to travel with Workaway for a longer time.
I had been working as an artist manager and marketing manager for over 7 years and really loved working in the arts, but as somebody who deeply loves nature, meeting new people, and gaining new experiences, I felt it was time to take a break from the 9-5 life and experience the nature of the world and meet all kinds of different people. After an absolutely beautiful first experience with Workaway, I was inspired to achieve this by quitting my job to travel to various Workaway locations for a while. I can't wait to see what my next adventure will be (:
When I am not working or spending time with people, I love to spend time with the arts or the outdoors. I appreciate just being present in the beauty of nature and doing nothing but admire it, but I also really love outdoor sports like hiking, rock climbing, and scuba diving. I am most in my zone when I am sculpting (clay, ceramics), love to read and write, and am always excited to explore new ways of creative expression.
I really look forward to experience different types of work during my upcoming Workaways. I love learning new skills, but some of my existing ones include gardening, cleaning and organizing (I have a good eye for the details), working with children, and (online) marketing. I also love any type of DIY project. I buy my furniture and clothes second-hand and love to shape them to my vision, and am always the first friend people call when they're moving house and need a helping hand for heavy lifting, painting, hanging lamps, etc.
But mostly, I am looking forward to meeting new people and discovering new places and ways of life. If you read my profile and think we could be a match, please don't hesitate to reach out! I am planning on traveling for a while, so would love to welcome any experience that feels right (:Interests

More details about your skills
I used to volunteer in a community garden in The Netherlands, so I have some experience with gardening. I also have a million indoor plants, so you can definitely trust me with your indoor plants or garden.
I am pretty practical and am good with "DIY" type tasks. I can paint walls, know how to use a drill and sander, hang a lamp, fix a bike, any stuff like that. Even if I haven't done it yet, I will figure it out.
I have an education in Communications and Marketing, as well as over 7 years of experience working in Marketing. So if you have a business you need more visibility on, or you need to be more active on for example social media, I could help you out.
And lastly, I am fluent in Dutch and English.Age
