Description
After spending a year trying out the 9 to 5 lifestyle, I'm returning to my love of travel and a life filled with adventure. I have plans to work as a river raft guide this summer and my raft guide school starts in mid April.
This past winter I took to the challenge of navigating the lake ice of Champlain, sled packing up snow covered mountains in New Hampshire, and burning through books while cuddled up in my apartment. As much as I've enjoyed this, I'm ready to leave winter behind and spend my time contributing to community, meeting new people, and helping with various projects as I make my way south to North Carolina!
So far through workaway I've:
- Housesat for two different folks (can give ya their contact info upon request)
- Taken care of winter farm chores such as feeding/water chickens, ducks, sheep, and goats
- Mucked out a frozen goat pen
- Helped carry to and from hay lofts
- helped wrangle goats as they got their hooves trimmed
- put in vole guards around saplings
- Babysat for a fort loving 3 year old and helped out with a 7 month old
- Cleared invasive species
- performed trail maintenance
- walked some high energy dogs
- Cooked some awesome dinners
- Cleaned up after other folks made awesome dinners
