Hey, my name is Seán, I’m a 27 year old from Co. Clare in Ireland.


I grew up in the Irish countryside, running around forests and fields, climbing hills and kayaking and sailing out on the lake near my house. The past few years I have worked in busy bars and restaurants living the city life, racing around and not really experiencing the life which I remember feeling so good. My experience of the hospitality industry has taught me a lot about working hard, but more importantly about people, I do love interacting with people, I always feel great having a laugh and talking to those I meet.
As I mentioned I have experience with many outdoor activities which I hope to partake in again, I miss the feeling of calmness feeling the wind on mountains and the joy of the sunset on the ocean.

At the end of the day, I am passionate, hard working and open minded. I hope to find a place where I can provide, work and feel useful, but also that I can learn, enjoy and feel.

I also bring my experience in the hospitality industry, I interact well with people and have a very good knowledge of different areas of the business.

I will be traveling with my camera , of course I would love to share my knowledge and ability when it comes to this area. I have included some examples of my photography below.
In the past several of my poems got published in local magazines and journals and I am hoping that being out in nature and meeting new people will help revitalise my passion for creative expression of words.

I worked for two summers at the Scouting Ireland National Water Activity Centre here in Ireland between the ages of sixteen and seventeen. I do not have world recognized credentials in this respect as within scouting we had our own system, but I have taught beginner level kayaking and sailing.

I have also started a gardening project at home with my sister, we grow potatoes, courgettes, beans, rhubarb, carrots, onions and some tomatoes in a polytunnel and raised bed garden I built myself over a few weeks. I would love to learn more on my workaway to bring the knowledge back to my own garden :D

Most recently I have been working in Dingle, Ireland as a bartender in a very busy tourist pub, which has really kick started my desire to get back to travelling again by meeting all of the great people travelling through here and listening to stories.

While working in Dingle I tended a large townhouse garden for a woman who could not manage it herself, taking care of landscaping and maintenance tasks.

What else ...

I love to play chess, I'm no master but I thoroughly enjoy the game and will be bringing a travel board with me if anyone would like to learn, or maybe teach me a thing or two :D

I enjoy cooking and though my diet/recipes involve a lot of meat (pretty typical in Ireland) I am completely open to vegan eating, I want to try new foods and expand my knowledge with cooking.
