Description
Hi, I’m Scarlett!
I’m a 19 years old and have been backpacking through Europe for the past 4 months. I absolutely love exploring new cities and new cultures, never knowing what the day will hold! I love reading, listening to podcasts, hiking, surfing, anything Drama related and trying new foods! I’m up for mostly anything, I’d like to say I’m a very optimistic person and not afraid to get my hands dirty. This year I have let myself explore and grow a great sense of independence. I’d love to help any organisation or family that would have me and I promise to give it my all! :)

I’d love to be fluent in German as my Mum is German and I’d love nothing more than to come back home and be able to surprise my Opi and Omi with perfect German (may be slightly unrealistic but hey). I’d definitely say I’m beginner level.

More details about your skills
At the start of the year, I helped my mum and dad single-handedly renovate my parents’ investment property. We stripped the wallpaper, puttied the cracks, and painted the ceilings and walls. My dad and I then ripped up the carpets and sanded and polished the floors. My mum and I installed floorboards in the kitchen.
Over the years, my dad and I also built a greenhouse for a school project, where I planted 500 trees that I grew myself and later used to revegetate unused farmland with the help of Tree Project Australia. So I’d like to say I have a bit of a green thumb! I also had my own veggie patch.
Before I left, I babysat regularly, which I loved — though it wasn’t very hard because they were great kids! I also have a younger brother, so I’m very used to living with children. I’m a tidy person and have worked at a winery as a waitress, as well as at a women’s clothing store where I was responsible for opening and closing the shop.
My best friend’s dad owns a winery, so during the season I’ve helped harvest grapes and wax bottles. I also have a dog, Lola, who I miss very much — I’ve taken her on countless walks. I’m definitely an animal lover!

What else ...
I can drive a manual car and have driven a scooter before, if needed. I love card games like Cambio and Spit — though I’ll warn you, I can be quite competitive! I make an effort to learn the basics of any country I visit, such as how to say thank you, hello, and goodbye, etc., so I’m always open and eager to learn about new cultures.
I also love camping, which my family and I do every summer. Give me some sun and sand and I’m completely in my element!
