Activities we are interested in:
An adventurous couple making our way around the world. We love hiking, cycling, diving & the other outdoorsy 'ings', and are doing what we can to make sure our trip never ends!
Our next destination:
Mexico - from Jan 2025 until Jun 2025 View allDescription
Hi everyone! We're a couple from the UK, who quit our jobs after realising the office 9-5 really isn't for us. We began our adventures round the world in December 2021 in Mexico, where we realised that we want to turn our travelling into a lifestyle. We thrive in nature, and love cycling, hiking, diving, discovering new places (especially those off the beaten track), and sitting and watching the world do its thing.
We are both open minded and curious people who learn new things quickly. We're interested in developing skills that will help our trip last a lifetime and are learning Spanish to expand our opportunities.
Between us in the UK, we've worked in hotels, bars, housing organisations, restaurants, charities and retail, and during our travels we have done:
- gardening
- farming
- house sitting
- dairy farm & cheese making
- environmental, conservation and education project work
- dog sitting and care
- teaching English
- eco-campsite support
We've enjoyed every single experience and can't wait to get involved in more opportunities.
We'd like to increase our knowledge of sustainable living and other practical knowledge in this area, but also find and fuel our creative outlets.
That's why we like to get stuck into a range of Workaway experiences, as it helps us to learn new skills and meet great people that will help us grow, as well as supporting local people and communities along the way. We like stretching our capabilities - no experience is too obscure!
After a year in the Americas, we spent January and February 2023 in South East Asia before popping back to the UK. We then spent 7 weeks in the Balkans. Recently we've been exploring the countries of Central America that we didn't make before. Now we are spending the spring/summer in Europe, starting with Spain. We generally prefer travelling slowly, absorbing culture and community life and taking time to find those memorable hidden gems that stay in your memories forever.
Sarah: I'm friendly, approachable, organised and thorough... I write a blog documenting our travels which I enjoy and have a thirst for knowledge that I quench by reading about a range of topics. I'm learning to be more spiritual and I've always wanted to learn to play the piano.
Justine: I'm creative and enthusiastic. I love being outdoors and I'm very handy and resourceful with fixing things and cooking. I enjoy taking photos of nature in all its imperfection (I'm Sarah's blog photographer). I am keen to find my own personal creative outlet and learn new skills as I travel.Interests

More details about your skills
We both have experience working in internationally branded hotels in the UK (housekeeping, food and beverage, cleaning, front of house, and duty management), so would feel at home helping around a home/hostel/hotel.
We also worked in social housing so have a knowledge of basic repair diagnosis and case management. In this role, Sarah managed the customer service social media accounts for the company for a number of years, and both our roles required time management, organisation, problem solving and customer service skills.
Justine is a great cook (she really is the queen of flavours!) and we have both done gardening, farming, campsite management and house and dog sitting roles. We are enthusiastic and will chuck ourselves into a range of activities without fuss. We are often relied on to work independently, using our own initiative and are kind and helpful by nature.Age

What else ...
We both love music and have been pulled into some Latino music that we hadn't heard much of in the UK! We've been to music festivals at home and abroad and love socialising with new, interesting and cool people. We are enjoying refreshing the Spanish we learned during our time in Spain and year in Latin America, and we're excited to learn more from people we stay with or meet on Workaway.
