  • Description

Hi! Amabel and Savannah here! Bit about us...
Originally from KwaZulu-Natal, we have worked our way up doing the things we love: hiking, photography, child care, motorcycles, anything ocean, animal care, painting, community involvement, music, journaling and writing, and video making, we don't mind getting our hands dirty, and are hard workers.

I was home educated by my mother, never went to school. She took us on many outings, did practical, hands-on learning, many roadtrips while learning history, nature, and culture!
From roadtripping from young, I became so excited for the idea to continue to travel, around the world!
I've had so many fantastic opportunities not just with work, but also blessed by my surroundings and culture wherever I've gone.

Amabel has been my best friend for over a decade, we've had the dream to volunteer and travel ever since we met.
She has been in many different schools, widening her experience with making new friends and experiencing new cultures. She's been on a few family road trips as well, which is where she gets her love for travelling. She is very passionate about people and just a naturally bubbly personality!

We are so excited to continue traveling and learning different cultures, building friendships from all over, finding challenges and opportunities!

  • More details about your skills

Amabel has had a few photography opportunities, photographing kiddies, parties, weddings, family portraits, etc.
She helped her mom homeschool her two little sisters, teaching them how to read and write, life skills, and some geography and science. She took them on little trips and taught them outside in nature.
Amz has had a few babysitting jobs. She had a job for almost a year babysitting, started when he was four months old, her duties included staying over when needed, keeping the house clean and in order, going grocery shopping when needed and general care of the baby.
She also helped her mom open a business, so she has experience with online advertising, arts, and crafts. Her main role was setting everything up, including the home office space, Facebook pages, putting them on the map, etc.
Amz has done many housesitting and pet sitting jobs as well.

As for my skills. I started assisting my mum in her daycare for 3 years at age 14. That was hands on learning with reading and numbers. Age 17 I was an entertainment assistant at a resort. My description included keeping the kiddos entertained with outdoor and indoor activities. I then started house and pet sitting during COVID in 2021. I would make sure the pets were fed and healthy, keep the house and garden neat, send daily updates to the owners, secure the property when I left and in the evenings, and manage staff.
I then was an Au Pair for a year in Hermanus looking after 2,5 year old twins. I stayed with the family, and taught the twins at home, kept a routine, outdoor play, fun maths games and story time.
I have also worked at at a backpackers lodge in Underberg for 6 months
My main description was receptionist, taking bookings, occasionally answering emails, calls and messages, directing guests, assisting with guests needs, stock take etc. I would also keep the backpackers and garden neat, take guests down to prep them for horse rides, help prep meals, dinner and breakfast, create a cozy ambience, take guests down to the river for tubing, and I have also hosted two 3 day horse ride into Lesotho! I would make the meals during their stay in the village, entertain, help saddle the horses, make a lekka braai with stories by the fire side!
I also love restoration and renovation.
I've done occasional photography for weddings, proposal shoots, birthdays. I've also done photography for the IBC international bodyboarding competition.

Amz and I spent a couple months at an NPO volunteering in the restoration of a children's holiday home, painting, taking old paint off cupboard doors, ripping out old carpeting, and rotten parquet flooring, measuring and cutting new carpets and fitting.
