  We are a small family living on rural property in Western Victoria. We take care of dogs, and we have horses and chickens. We have a large vegetable garden, lawns, paddocks and shedding. We love hosting people and are a social household. We work from home often and host friends regularly. We are very, very easy-going and well-travelled people who love to learn from other cultures and teach others about our own. We love to cook and go on walks, and spend time with our local community.

  We love to cook and host our local friends and family for dinner parties and bbqs, and love to get to know people from all around the world. Both my husband and I have lived in Oceania, Asia, and Europe. My husband is from Victoria but worked extensively overseas. I am from New Zealand and have also lived and worked extensively overseas. We bring a large community of friends and a network of opportunities all over our local area. And we are open to sharing our life and experiences with others.

  Accommodation

  3m x 4m bedroom with heating and cooling. Queen size bed, new, high quality mattress, pillows and bedding, with wardrobe, bed side tables, a large window with curtains. A desk and chair, with a computer screen if needed. Shared bathroom; bath, shower and separate toilet. This bathroom is rarely used by others. Separate entrance via the garage to the room, laundry and bathroom. Full access to the kitchen and cooking areas, living, dining area. TV, stereo system, couches, dining table, large kitchen and pantry. Separate fridge/freezer available if required.
  
  Food can be included or you can make your own. Whatever you prefer. We are extremely flexible. We often cook large meals and there is always plenty to go around, with leftovers.
  
  Access to the property is via car - there is a bus 25min walk away, but it only goes once a day. We can drop you to the train station or into town if required (depending on our work schedule) otherwise, we recommend you have a bicycle or a car to get around.
  
  There is a backyard, with seating and bbq, plenty of space to relax and enjoy the space, as well as 10 acres of farm area with the horse, chickens and dogs.
  
  Unlimited internet, heating and cooling in most rooms and a fireplace.

  You are within 1 hour to Melbourne CBD by train or car. There are art galleries and tourist sites in and around the Ballan local area. Ballarat and Daylesford are a regional towns within 30mins that have so much to offer and are available by car or train.
  Lots of local hikes in the area and walking tracks if you like to wander.

  Dogs are ok, so long as they are house trained and get along with other dogs. No german shepherds sorry.
