We are two friends, Becky and Sam, from England. We are travelling to Japan on 25th February with a year-long Working Holiday Visa, and are eager to travel around Japan and engage with local cultures and traditions.
We both graduated from Cardiff School of Art and Design in 2017, and are interested in photography, particularly documentary-landscape photography. We feel like Japan's unrivalled and varied landscapes are perfect for us to explore our interests whilst building on our portfolios and experiencing all that the country has to offer.
We both love the outdoors, going on hikes in our spare time to amazing locations in the U.K. We have a great interest in working outdoors, particularly on agricultural farms or with animals, and are eager to learn more about ecological and self-sustainable living.
Our concern for nature influences our beliefs, behaviours and our lifestyle choices. We are keen to live and work in a peaceful and communal environment- Japan's homogeneity and ecological ethics are the key reasons why we decided to travel to Japan in the first place!
Thank you for taking the time to view our profile, and hopefully considering having us to stay with you!

We are both very imaginative and creative thinkers, and are skilled when using IT. We both have portfolio websites that we have built ourselves showing our art and photography. These are:
We have both recently gained a CELTA qualification to teach our native language of English to foreign speakers, and are very happy to put this into practice either teaching children or adults.
We know little Japanese so far, but are very enthusiastic to learn, as we think that it's not only respectful, yet necessary to experience the Japanese culture fully.
We both love animals, and have some experience caring for them. We are very keen to work with animals during our stay in Japan, either looking after pets or in farming.
We currently both work in hospitality, both as front of house staff in restaurants and cafes, and so are at ease when dealing with the public and have a friendly and polite manner.
We consider ourselves to be hard workers and to have a good work ethic, and due to the nature of our current jobs we both work confidently amongst colleagues in a team environment, however we are equally comfortable working independently.
Becky also has an International Driving License.
