OceanMy next destination:
Albuquerque, NM, United States - from May 2025 until Dec 2026 View allDescription
Joined Workaway 2019:
Hello! My name is Ryan William, a friendly nomad from the United States.
Life is opening up before my eyes. I would grareful to meet you, to work for you, to share my unique, yet realistic perspective of this beautiful world we live in together.
Update November 2019:
After Traveling Solo through Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, I feel relieved in the hospitality and generosity of strangers that owe nothing to me. I feel closer to the natural world and am excited for what is next. I now am certified by the International Academy of Sound Healing originally to treat an injury sustained in Vietnam. Now I share my practice in yoga studios in my hometown as I heal my injury.
Update January 2020:
I finished converting my Subaru into a camper and am heading to SouthWest USA to rock climb and work on sustainable projects.
Looking to learn spiritual and physical arts such as Brazilian Ju Jitsu, biomagnetism, sustainable building, natural medicines, dance and primitive skills.
Update November 2024:
After Traveling through 30 states in the USA as well as short trips in Central America, I have learned a lot about the world and myself. Martial Arts, Permaculture, Rock Climbing, Improv Comedy, dance and acting, Music. I have grown.
BIGGEST CHANGE:
I would say the biggest change, after 5 years of traveling, is my perspective. I remember back when I took off to Malaysia for my first solo travel experience when I was 18 years old, I just wanted to see the world as it is and leave my harmed/harmful aspects behind. Now, I say, I have a more clear PURPOSE. I am becoming the father to my future children, the husband to my future wife, (I don't know them yet, but I pray for them), a caretaker for our planet. I now am studying emergency medicine as a Wilderness EMT, where I can travel and help people in direct and meaningful ways.
UPDATE May 2025:
At the beginning of the year I traveled through Costa Rica and volunteered on multiple farms learning about soil regeneration, permaculture, natural building and much more. I then completed a semester in Wilderness Emergeny Medicine including swiftwater rescue, high angle ropes rescue, wildland fire, avalanche rescue, reach and treat rescue, and received my National Registry EMT lisencure. I then moved out to New Mexico to volunteer on an equestrian farm, Mustang Camp, where they specialize in training wild Mustang Horses. At the end of the month I will be moving south to Albuquerque, NM to work on ambulance, volunteer for search and rescue as well as get involved with the fire department and hopefully local farms.Interests
