An adventurer at heart, I describe myself as a person with a unique background and a versatile skill-set. Currently working as an elementary teacher, I spend my days trying to shape young minds and to portray a positive role model. I have a background in horticulture and landscape and am always happy when I'm out in the garden, designing and creating. I have a habit of heading overseas on a new adventure every year or two, seeking out new learning opportunities, cultures and landscapes that that help to broaden my view and knowledge of the world. I just recently returned from my first incredible Workaway experience, helping to breathe new life into an old French Chateau in the Loire Valley. After such a unique trip of soaking up history and immersing myself into a new culture and language, I think I'm hooked. For my next workaway, I'm hoping to see a little more water and sand. Something simplistic, unique, and ecological in mind. Following a recent backpacking trip that took me along the Pacific coast of Panama, I'm again longing for tropical vistas, coral reefs, and wet, green forests. A lover of languages, I speak Spanish rather well, and can summon enough French to get by. I am physically fit, with a love of biking, kayaking and snorkeling. I'm a big fan of a DIY projects where I can find outlets for my creativity, whether it be a landscape project, or redesigning an interior. I'm at home in the kitchen, and love to try out new and exciting recipes. I have a passion for animals and conservation, and try to live my life as eco-friendly as possible, making conscious decisions in everything I do. I'm reserved, rational, hard-working, thoughtful and some even describe me as funny!
