Hi! My name is Ruud. I'm from a small town in the middle of the Netherlands called Emmeloord. Currently I work as sales assistant for a plant nursery. And though it's a good job, ever since I was a kid I've wanted to travel and see more of the big world outside my tiny country. So recently I decided, now that I am still young (22 yo), it is time to do just that.
Not only would I like to travel more, I'm also very curious about the world around me. I love spending time in nature, reading, photography, and meeting new people. And since my sales assistance job, which is an office job, I've quite missed working with my hands instead of behind a computer screen.
Through Workaway I'm hoping to bring these things together. Learning new skills, meeting new people, and seeing more of the world.

- Foremost I'm a hard worker. I'm not afraid of some mud or dust :)
- Though I'm not afraid to get dirty when working, I am an orderly person who cleans up after himself.
- I am social and customer friendly.
- I am calm and won't get stressed out easily.
- Dutch is my native tongue, but I speak English fluently.
- Last but not least, I want to learn, learn and learn. Though I might not be the most skilled in something, or even completely new to it, I will work hard and I'm always open to learn new skills.

Some extra things about me:

Like I said in the description I love nature, but more specifically all the variaties of plants and trees, since I've started working in a plant nursery here in Holland, I've picked up a fascination for plants and trees. Though my knowledge of them is still very limited (there are so many of them after all! ;P).

I have a recently picked up an interest in photography, mostly nature, landscapes and sometimes some streetphotography.

And concerning games, I am a horrendous, but passionate chess player. And I like board games such as Monopoly and Settlers of Catan.

And usefull to know as well: I love talking to and meeting (new) people but occasionally I will need some alone time.
