  • Description

I am using my savings to travel the world and involving myself with different communities for 6months to a year now that I just graduated university. Enjoyment for me comes from getting to know people and sharing ideas with others. People bring me happiness ✨ I also love backpacking, creating music, cooking, mycoremediation, aquaponics, other sustainability practices, as well as learning and unlearning. I’m content pretty constantly as long as I'm surrounded in an environment with kind-hearted people. I believe I am a positive and kind presence to have around :)

  • More details about your skills

Work-away experience: I WOOFed when I was 19 for three months on a farm in Costa Rica, called “The Monkey Farm”. There I took care of baby howler monkeys as well as farm animals such as horses, goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits, turkeys and peacocks. I am comfortable with performing farming tasks. I also learned how to cook for large amounts of people. I was a tour guide for tourists and locals who visited the farm. I assisted in leading a project to install an aquaponics system on the farm to help conserve water.

Community experience: During college I lived in a Cooperative-Housing
living environment. This meant that I lived in a house with many others and we had house meetings, monthly house work days, gardening activities which focused on providing sustainable living, and committees. On of the greatest things I learned living here was how to handle situations of conflict in a calm yet effective manner. I was on finance committee, maintenance committee, and applicant coordinating committee which focused on providing rent assistance for low income and fair housing opportunities.

Personable Skills: I love working hard at tasks, whatever they are. I am organized and can task/time manage very well. I work well with people and believe I am easy to get along with. I like to cook but even more than that I and like to clean!

University and Research Experience: I have my bachelors of science in Environmental Toxicology from University of California Davis. My last job was at an aquatic toxicology lab where I worked under post docs, graduate students, and junior specialists assisting them with their research projects. I had a research project my senior year researching the fish species, longfin smelt, and the effects the pesticide, bifenthrin, had on them during larval stages. I also worked in a mass spectrometry lab for a couple years during college.

Other job experience: I have been working since the age of 15 in community service jobs.
