Hello, my name is Robbie (Robs). I am an anthropologist by study (UBC 2020), but I have been working as a freelancer for the last couple years. I am very passionate about human and animal groups, and fascinated by the wealth of diversity which nature provides regarding the mechanisms exhibited in maintaining societies, both large and small.

I am looking for a workaway in South America while I continue a project I started last year. I hope to be surrounded by knowledgable people who can help educate and inspire me, although this is not strictly necessary and I am happy to just work for food and lodging. My goal is to contribute my knowledge and skills towards the empowerment of indigenous groups by helping create agency through food security, functioning infrastructure, sustainable profit revenues, and intelligent resource acquisition and distribution.

I was born in Mexico but have had the privileged experience of living and working in a variety of countries including Scotland, USA, Canada, Germany, as well as a few months in South Africa.

I am currently working as a freelancer moving props and furniture on film sets, as well as a language camp counselor teaching English to German children.

I am a very social, determined, and enthusiastic worker. I like being part of teams as well as working towards communal goals and finding inventive solutions to achieve such goals.

I have experience working as a business consultant, a general maintenance laborer, a camp counselor/ English teacher. I have also worked in various capacities in the service industry, including as a waiter, a dishwasher, and as a retail assistant.
