Hi,
My name is Rémi and I'm from Belgium. At the moment I'm traveling through Europe with my van and I'm hoping to do a lot of volunteering along the way. I'm new on Workaway, but I have done a lot of volunteering with Worldpackers. I love volunteering, because I find it to be the best way to learn about a new culture and gather new skills. For me it is the best way to travel. Apart from traveling I'm passionate about Muay Thai, kickboxing and sports in general, music, skiing and spending time with friends and family.

I have 2 Bachelor degrees, one in Agro- & Biotechnology and one in Clinical Psychology.
Work Experience
Back in Belgium my profession is Youth/Social worker. I have also done quite a bit of volunteering. In Belgium, for a long time, I was part of Chiro, which is an organisation that organises activities for children and youth (e.g., going camping, playing games, doing sports). I have also done some volunteering abroad: I have helped rebuild houses in Sri Lanka after a natural disaster, I cared for patients in a refuge centre in Myanmar, I taught English in Cambodia, I worked on a traditional farm in Portugal, ...

I got to know Rémi in these 15 days as a skilled man who listens to the instructions very carefully and does the assigned job very good. Rémi was a great help for me. He helped a lot with cutting grass and putting the grass into piles. We would cut some grass using a machine and some using a scythe where it was too steep for the machine. I… read more

I stayed at the farm for 3 weeks and really enjoyed my stay. Anders and June are very friendly and welcoming. During my stay I learned how to drive a tractor, helped with collecting the hay, did some painting, helped with cutting down trees, etc. Highly recommend.

Remi was nice and helpful while he was staying at our farm for 5 weeks. He has been helping us to fix a fence for our sheep, building gates, building a veranda to our sauna with Pasi, helping to saw wood that we could build things with, shovel earth to fill up a ditch, etc. Remi will always be welcome back :)
