Ciao! We’re Rawina and Nirai – partners in life, love, and adventure for the past 5 years. We travel not just to see new places, but to grow, connect, and give back. What draws us to Workaway is the chance to work alongside kind people, share stories, learn from new cultures, and hopefully become part of your everyday life not just guests, but extended family.
We’ve worked with both Italian and Dutch hosts so far, and while language can sometimes be a barrier, we make it work with good humour and openness. Rawina speaks intermediate Italian, and Nirai understands well with visual or hands-on explanations.
We work well as a team and enjoy sharing tasks. Whether it’s gardening, heavy lifting, painting, making beds, or anything else that needs doing. We don’t split jobs by gender; we both jump in wherever we’re needed.
A bit about us:
Nirai: Business owner, fitness coach. Humble, funny, practical.
Rawina: Teacher and wellbeing advisor. Energetic, social, creative.
Together we love: CrossFit, running, golf (Rawina’s still learning!), 8-ball pool, and leisurely biking, listening to r&b and reggae music, and playing cards and board games.
We’re also passionate about community work and cultural exchange — we love learning, sharing, and being of service wherever we go.
Workaway isn’t just about work for us - it’s about connection, growth, and creating meaningful memories with the people we meet. So if we are the right fit please feel free to message us :)Interests

Nirai is a fitness coach and car detailer from Aotearoa, New Zealand, with a passion for hands-on, outdoor work. Whether it’s maintenance, gardening, or hiking, he thrives in physical tasks and is always eager to be outside, getting stuck into whatever needs doing. A natural competitor, he enjoys activities like board games, cards, 8-ball, and golf ..anything that combines movement with strategy. On the creative side, he has built a strong social media presence and is skilled in capturing and editing videos, adding a unique touch to his work.
From his bootcamps, he’s developed excellent communication and people skills, constantly striving to motivate and guide others toward their goals. His career has also included working on cruise ships as a Maaori performer, where he taught performing arts and the maaori language, honing his ability to connect with diverse groups of people. Customer service has been central to all of his roles, whether it’s making sure participants have an enjoyable fitness experience, engaging an audience with captivating performances, or providing top-notch service as a car detailer. He understands the importance of tailoring his approach to meet the needs of individuals, ensuring they feel valued and respected in every interaction.
Rawina had the amazing opportunity to live in Italy for a year, which allowed me to immerse myself in the culture and language. As a result, I speak some pretty decent Italian - though I’ll admit it’s been a few years since I was there, so my skills might be a little rusty. After returning from Italy, I had the rewarding experience of teaching math and English to 10-12-year-olds who faced learning challenges, such as dyslexia and dyscalculia. It was a truly fulfilling role, helping young students overcome obstacles and reach their potential. From there, I decided to pursue further studies, earning my degree in psychology. Currently, I work as a wellbeing events coordinator, where I combine my passion for supporting others' health and growth with my skills in event planning and coordination. I’m also a lifelong learner, always eager to explore new areas, especially anything related to hospitality.
We both bring a mix of energy, creativity, and structure to everything we do. Whether it’s physical tasks, creative projects, or strategic planning, we work together to bring ideas to life. Our shared passion for action and getting things done means we’re always focused on executing with enthusiasm, while ensuring everything stays organised and on track.Age

Janine, Loyd, Sam, Holly, and Chester 🐶 made us feel like true family from the very first day. There were so many laughs and warm moments. Caterina felt like a big sister.. so caring, bright, funny, and thoughtful.
