  • Description

Hellooooo! I'm Paris a 32 year old Aussie, new to the official WorkAway community. I've worked in a diverse range of employment, I've lived with people in exchange for work, I've lived out of a converted 4x4 and traveled the West Coast for 3 years. Currently re-creating the same life, wanting to learn and travel again.

Community and true connection is what pushes me forward daily. I enjoy my solitary days just as much as I enjoy big groups of shared cultures and stories.

I find myself to be a creative human, yet to find my medium, but enjoy crafting, painting, writing, sketching. Anything that allows my creative side to take lead and flourish.

I love animals of allllll kinds. You'll usually find me relocating spiders rather than squishing them (little crawly creatures deserve love too!)

I've lived and worked remotely before, Karijini National Park in W.A. I adored it. I learnt very quickly you need to find hobbies and tasks that keep your mind occupied, and I found I felt more settled when in this environment!

I find myself to be quite friendly, but I can read a room well too. Love conversations that are deep and real, but appreciate the daily banter that happens while working hard. Life's better when you can smile :)
While there is a lot I've done in life, there are still endless tasks/talents/passions/lessons to be learnt. I approach tasks I don't know how to do with a head on approach and just give it a damn good go! I'm never going to know my strengths and weakness without trying! I learn fast too ;)

I am ideally looking for remote farms to live on as I've just left the Gold Coast and it was faaaaar too busy and bustling for me. I'd choose trees and dirt over skyscrapers any day!

As mentioned earlier, I am incredibly new to this, and while I don't have previous WorkAway hosts as references, I can provide you with previous tenants, person or job references if you would like :)

    I look forward to being your new cleaner/fence builder/pet sitter/private chef/person assistant/plant carer.

I was born in Canberra, with Italian grandparents, but it is minimal at best. Keen to learn! I started learning Dutch from a past relationship and enjoy the idea of becoming bi-lingual/multi-lingual. We only have one brain, it's best when put to use ;)

  • More details about your skills

I have travelled overseas a little more than a little, but not as much as most. I like learning other people's perspectives and experiences, and sharing cultures and stories.

I've worked behind bars, in agricultural farms, as a maintenance person, housekeeping, retail, aged care (assisting people living with Dementia's, learning about preventing Dementia).

I have taught myself how to paint (not well, but it's a start) using watercolours. I can create with macrame, tiger wire and beads.

I LOVEEEEE to cook!!! I mostly enjoy cooking with an Asian twist ie. Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Korean - but keep in mind. I am an Aussie through and through.
I grew up with Italian grandparents, so pasta is a big part of my life!

I try to eat a plant based diet, looking for nutrition in many creative recipes, but I was brought up to eat what I was given, and have carried that through my life.

While I consider myself to be relatively healthy, you won't find me going for 6km runs at 5 am. I do basic yoga/meditation as it helps keep me grounded, and I do enjoy walking and hiking.

I can't survive a day without music. I'm a terrible singer, but enjoy a tune or two. Don't worry, I won't be blasting my music for everyone else, or sing until cats scream and windows shatter, just a few songs in the shower!

  • What else ...

I'm new to this. I've met and stayed with families from all over the world when traveling and LOVE to learn about other's perspectives and culture. I believe no matter how much you learn, you ALWAYS have more to learn. I like to think I'm open minded and welcoming to others thoughts and opinions :)

  • Some more information

    • Smoker

    • Driver's licence

    • Allergies
Cats, but I carry antihistamines around and I actually love them more than I'm allergic. I have owned cats all my life.

    • Special dietary requirements
I like to eat plant based, but I understand farm life have a lot of meat and animal protein. Bonus points if we're eating the live stock we care for. Or the fish we catch! I'm still getting used to taking a life to eat it, but I do want to encourage this
