  • Description

I’ve always preferred discovering how people actually live rather than visiting busy tourist places, so the idea of Workaway really appeals to me. I like the thought of staying somewhere for a while, being part of everyday life and getting to know people rather than just passing through.

I love travelling, animals, the sea and being outdoors. I enjoy cooking and anything creative or hands-on — crafts, painting, making things, working with my hands.

Lately I’ve become especially interested in farm life and permaculture. I’m thinking about having a small farm of my own in the future, but before making that kind of decision, I’d love to experience it for real — the work, the routine, the good parts and the difficult parts — and find out whether I’m actually made for farm life!

I’m happy to share my own experience and skills, but I’m equally interested in learning something completely new. I’d love to meet people with a different way of life, spend time in nature and simply see where a new experience takes me.

More details about my language interests
Living and travelling in different places is a good way to improve a language naturally. Improving my English is useful, of course, and I’m always happy to learn a few words or phrases in another language along the way. More than studying languages, I simply enjoy communicating with people and finding a common language, even when our languages are different.

  • More details about your skills

Over the years, life has given me quite a mixed collection of practical, creative and everyday skills — and there are probably more than I can remember to list here.
Animals have always been a big part of my life. Since childhood, there has been plenty of experience looking after cats, dogs, rabbits, chickens, goats and horses. Horse riding and equestrian sport were also part of my life when I was younger, so being around animals feels very natural.

Gardening and growing things have been familiar since childhood too. More recently, permaculture has become a particular interest, and there is a lot I’d love to learn and put into practice. Flowers and plants are another thing I genuinely enjoy looking after.

Anything practical or hands-on usually appeals to me. Sewing, embroidery, painting and crafts are things I’ve enjoyed over the years, as well as painting and freshening up different surfaces around the home. Simple repairs and everyday tools such as hammers and saws are familiar too. There’s always something satisfying about taking a task from “this needs doing” to “done”.

Creative work is another big part of my experience. Photography and video have been a professional field for me, and more recently I’ve been creating images and videos with AI tools as well. Computers and software are something I’m very comfortable with, so help with technology, social media or creating content is always something I can offer. Social media and building a small brand are also areas where I have quite a lot of experience.

Languages can be another useful thing to share. Ukrainian and Russian are fluent, English is at a good level, and there is also some Polish. So if someone would like to practise a language together, that could be fun too.

As for the way I work, attention to detail comes naturally. Clean, organised and well-kept surroundings are important to me, and I like doing things properly rather than just getting them out of the way. At the same time, not knowing how to do something has never been a reason not to try. A lawn mower, for example, is still waiting to be properly introduced to me!

There are probably many little skills and experiences that have been forgotten in this list. In general, if something needs doing, I’m happy to learn, get involved and be useful.

  • What else ...

Outside of all the practical things I can help with, there are quite a few things I simply enjoy.
I have a real soft spot for vintage and antique things, especially vintage jewellery, tableware and little objects with a story behind them. I’m not an expert, but I’ve picked up some knowledge over the years and genuinely enjoy looking, learning and discovering something unusual. Restoring old furniture is something I haven’t tried yet, but I’d definitely love to learn one day.
Cooking is another thing I enjoy, and I’d be happy to share some Ukrainian recipes and cook something together.

I also love good board games. There’s one particular game I have at home that always seems to make people laugh, so I may have to bring it with me!

I enjoy interesting conversations, creative things and learning about how other people live. At the same time, I’m someone who really appreciates quiet and personal space. Being sociable is nice, but having some time alone, preferably outdoors or somewhere peaceful, is important for me too. I think the best experience is a good balance — sharing some time together, but also being comfortable doing your own thing.
