Nina:
I am a curious person. l love learning new skills, meeting new people and discovering the way that they see the world.
I grew up in the countryside but my gardening skills need to bloom. I want to seed the seeds of tomorrow, learning how to grow food to sustain ourselves.
I am an artist and an art practitioner. I paint, sing and play guitar and love writing poetry.
I love performance arts and particularly clowning.
I would like to find a way to make a living from my art practice and teaching creativity as a playful way to build a healthy life.
I love the outdoors and recently trained as a level 3 Forest School leader.
Nathan:
I like to explore, learn, and have adventures. I have had a variety of jobs in my life from working around England and Wales in backpackers hostels, to kitchen work, to building and maintaining poinds, to working in the care sector. My most recent job was as a team leader for an outreach care company working with adults with learning disabilities and mental health problems living independently.
I lived in the Lake District for many years and love exploring wild landscapes, climbing, scrambling, kayaking, running and wild camping in the mountains. I now want to explore alternative ways of living, more connected to nature, more self-sufficient and with a greater sense of community. Although most of my jobs have been inside the time I feel most content is when working outside, doing physical work towards a shared goal, and getting my hands dirty! I like to read, to write short stories, play board games, listen to music.
En francais:
Nina:
Interests

Nina:
I have spent the last six months running the woodwork room in a day centre for Deaf people with additional needs. I can do basic tasks in carpentry and would like to improve my skills. I am currently teaching myself the Latin names of plants. I have just qualified as a Level 3 Forest School Leader and can lead small whittling workshops and teach woodland crafts.
I have an extended experience working with children and adults with additional needs. I have a French Social Work diploma (DEME), recently graduated with a Creative Therapeutic Practice degree and would love to join my love of the outdoors and my passion in running creative workshops to support people's wellbeing.
Having worked three years with Deaf people in the UK, I have an intermediate knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL) and would love to share this with you if you are interested.
I used to help my grandparents in their vegetable gardens and I'm really looking forward to be a helper in a garden so that I could grow my own vegetables one day.
Nathan:
I have lots of experience of living in fairly remote places with basic facilities and have basic maintenance skills from looking after backpackers hostels, including one that was fully off-grid running on hydro power from a small stream and purifying drinking water from the stream which we had to maintain ourselves. Also lots of experience wild camping and exploring wild places.
I previously worked building and maintaining ponds so have knowledge of water filtration methods, water quality testing, fish health and digging big holes! I enjoy working outside, learn quickly and happy to get stuck in to any task.
I am not a chef but I have worked as a cook in backpackers hostels and am comfortable in a kitchen, creating simple, healthy meals.
I have previously kept chickens.
I worked in hospitality management for many years.
I have strong computer skills and can assist with any computer help, creating spreadsheets, building and maintaining websites and basic coding.
Keen to improve my French, learn to grow vegetables, look after animals, learn sustainable building methods, off-grid plumbing and electrical systems. I am also hoping to improve my knowledge of plants and foraging over the next few months.Age
