Hey there!
My name is Niko and I'm a 29 year old teacher from Germany. I'm living next to Essen, where I'm working as a teacher in sports and maths. Beside my job I am mostly doing sports (soccer, beach volleyball, running) or try to spend time in the nature. If I'm at home I love to cook, bake, eat or do gardening work. I would describe myself as an open-minded, friendly and helpful person.

I used to go to France with a group of friends once a year. There I always recognized that I love to speak to French people and get in touch with them. This is also the main reason why I decided to search for an interesting workaway-experience. I want to get in touch with French-speaking people and learn more about the French lifestyle. It would be wonderful if I could improve my language skills as well.

La vie chez Gaëlle est très minimaliste (toilette sèche, douche à l’exterieur).

Ce fut un plaisir de recevoir Nikolas pendant ces 3 jours. Malgré le peu de temps, il m'a beaucoup aidé et l'ambiance était très sympathique et conviviale; il a été très respectueux du lieu et des personnes.
S'il souhaite revenir à un autre moment, ce sera avec plaisir!

J’ai eu une bonne expérience chez Jonathan. Il es très gentille et il est un hôte génial.
Je suis été pour 3 jours entièrement plus l’arrivée et le départ.
J’aime bien l’expérience ici, bien que le séjour était très court.
On a parlé presque seulment français, parce que je veux améliorer mon français. Mais je pense on peut… read more aussi parler en anglais ou en russe avec lui.
La maison de Jonathan est très propre et ma chambre était très confortable. Mes jours ont commencé à 7 heures. Après une petit-déjeuner j’ai commencé au travail à 7.30 approximatif. En général j’ai fini les travaux vers 13/13.30. Régulièrement j’ai un ou deux petit pauses pendant les travaux.
Le travail que j’ai fait était dur. En majorité j’ai désherbé les petites arbres qu’il a planté l’année avant.
Après le travail j’étais fatigue souvent. Pendant mes temps libres j’ai explorer la nature autour de la maison de Jonathan. Mais je pense on peux aussi faire des excursions à Vannes ou à autre endroits à la mer.
En plus de la petit-déjeuner Jonathan aussi offre une repas à midi et au soirée. Les repas étaient magnifique chaque jour. Il a prendre beaucoup de ingrédients il a produit et le goût était formidable.
En fin je peux conseiller le séjour chez Jonathan!
J’espère que je peux revenir un jour pour voir le développement et si les petites arbres sont grandi.

I had a great stay at Jonathan’s place. He is a very nice person and host. I stayed for 3 full days plus the arrival and departure days. Even if my stay was quiet short I liked it a lot. We spoke nearly only french, because I wanted to improve my language skills. But I think you could also communicate very good in English or Russian with him.
His home is very clean and my room was also very comfortable. My days at his place started at 7am. After breakfast I started working at approximately 7.30 and I finished working around 13-13.30. Mostly I had one or two little breaks in between the working sessions. The work I did the 3 days was kind of rough. I had to weed the young trees so that they get enough space, sun and water.
After the work I was often quite tired. My free time I mostly spend in the nature next to his place. But I think it’s also possible to make a trip to Vannes or other nice spots at the sea. Beside breakfast Jonathan offered also lunch and dinner. The food he prepared was amazing. Fresh ingredients in combination with his great passion for cooking was a pleasure at all meals.
All in all I can recommend this place a lot! I hope I can comeback one day and can see how the place has evolved and to see how the trees I took care about grew up.
