Hi!!

My name is Azucena, but I go by naia .

Creative soul, diligent worker; ready to contribute with my best intentions and interest.

I was born and raised in surreal Mexico City. Eventually, the pace became a bit too hectic, so I moved to San Miguel de Allende, little town where I lived for ten years. Now, with my projects at home completed, I’m ready to create something new. I have no partner or kids—I'm 36, healthy and happy.

Regarding volunteer work, I have used so far other sites to do petsitting, housesitting and karma yoga. I’ve loved them all.

As much as I like being by myself, it’s so evident to me now how being with others enrich the experience so vastly.

I find the challenge of coming up with a unique approach deeply satisfying. Creativity runs through everything I do.

Photography / Video
A long-time passion and former profession. I worked as a photographer and videographer when it was still a thriving business. I’d be happy to create portraits or behind-the-scenes/documentary-style content for you. I won’t be traveling with my own camera equipment, but if you have something available—or even just a smartphone—I can make it work. I’ll have my computer with me, so photo and video editing is definitely possible.

Yoga
I’m a certified yoga teacher, although I haven’t taught formal classes yet. My training was more about deepening my understanding of yoga philosophy and Hindu teachings, especially texts like the Bhagavad Gita. My personal practice is more spiritual than fitness-focused, and I’d be glad to share it with you. I usually practice the Sivananda (Hatha) series and the Bikram series—minus the heat! I also do Pranayama (breathwork), which I find deeply grounding.

House Renovation & Design
Over the last four years, I co-built and designed two houses with my partner. I have a strong eye for spatial design, lighting (both natural and artificial), color, materials, patterns, and overall atmosphere. I thrive in beautiful, thoughtfully arranged spaces, and will always try to make a place feel more welcoming and harmonious if I can.

Hospitality & Hosting
I managed a restaurant for about a year, where I developed systems for inventory and staffing. I also waited tables—and mixed more margaritas than I can count. I enjoy welcoming people, helping them feel comfortable, and sharing advice about food or the local area. My approach is more refined and elegant than quirky and bubbly.

Exterior & Interior Landscaping
I say this modestly—plants are still a challenge for me! I’ve worked in landscaping for the past two years, but mostly from a design perspective. I’m comfortable creating aesthetically pleasing outdoor and indoor spaces, though I’m less experienced in plant care, treatment, or growing produce. My focus is decorative rather than agricultural, but I’m always happy to share what I know and propose ideas to enhance the look and feel of a place.

- As the Capricorn that I am, I appreciate order and structure. I keep my space tidy and approach tasks in a methodical, thoughtful, and organized way.

- I’m more of a listener than a talker, which helps me connect with people in a genuine way.

- Physically, I’m fit and energetic, capable of carrying out hard work.

- I love music, and I’m currently learning the flute and the drum kit. Dancing and singing bring me the most joy.
