Hello!

After a wonderful month gardening last year, I’m very keen to find another long term placement for the Spring! After a 15 year career in humanitarian aid and international development, I’m taking a long sabbatical to reconnect with family, friends and Canada!

I’ve lived in 10 countries across the globe, working with the United Nations and Red Cross. From Uganda to Uzbekistan, Jordan to the Philippines, I’ve had incredible opportunities to discover the world. Working in conflict zones and managing large teams of people has required perseverance, grit and resilience. My work was focused on human rights and I consider myself a very open minded social justice advocate.

After so many intense experiences, I’m in a more quiet phase of life and looking to work with my hands, outdoors, in the midst of nature. I love children and all animals and have rescued multiple dogs and cats across the globe.

I thrive working autonomously and also enjoy having company.

Being part of family life while also enjoying enjoying independence would best describe the environment I’m looking for. I respect that hosts have separate lives as well! My inner life is rich and I keep myself occupied by a myriad of different interests - reading, writing and studying. I’m currently finishing up a children’s book.

Respect for all cultures and people is paramount. Kindness and generousity of spirit are the values I live by and seek to live around.

I’m currently writing a children’s novel and love to paint!
Morning or evening walks are part of my week and would love the opportunity to hike.
I started meditation a couple of years ago and have found it transformative.
