hiking, arts and culture, gardening, animal care, homesteading projects
I love to experience community. I have traveled extensively and have a broad appreciation for different cultures. I have stayed at hostels around the world and have hiked the Camino in Spain. I'm interested in intentional community projects, homesteading, community gardens. I'm hoping to gain some skill and knowledge in these areas so that I can start a project of my own. I also love storytelling and music, hiking, and animals.
I’m heading towards retirement and am looking for an area to settle in, so I want to get a feel for the area, the people, and the land. I want to learn as much as I can about homesteading and the skills involved, so I’m more than happy to put in the hours and not do too much of the tourist thing. I love to talk with people I’m comfortable with, but generally I’m pretty quiet and stick to my tasks. Once you show me what to do, I can work independently and can direct myself. On the other hand, I like working alongside others and like to have some structure to my daily activities.
I have some gardening skills and have participated in ground clearing, swamping (for chain sawyers), and shoveling lots of dirt! I can assist with home projects like painting and furniture assembly (I've done lots of that!). I also have strong writing skills and can assist with blogs and related work. I can draft or deliver lectures and provide training.
