Hi, we're Mitch and Liv and we're travellers from the UK - Mitch is from Scotland, and Liv is from England. What brings us the most happiness is travelling the world as a couple! We are taking a gap year from our jobs in 2024 to pursue our lifelong dream of travelling Southeast Asia. We have fallen in love with the landscapes, cultures and people of this region - but, sadly, only from afar. Now, it's time to make this dream a reality. We're ethically-minded, responsible travellers in search of authentic travel experiences. That's why we're using Workaway to connect with locals on a deeper level.

We are both Qualified English teachers with TEFL and CELTA certifications. We can teach all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced. We are also interested in language exchange, to gain deeper knowledge and understanding of the culture of where we're staying. We can teach you English, you can teach us some of your language!

Since we are a couple, we have different skills we bring:

Mitch:

Qualified English teacher with degrees in English Linguistics. He has been teaching English to foreign students for over 4 years. Mitch is also a volunteer with many different charities, including WaterAid and refugee charities, so has skills in working with local people and those who need help.

Liv:

Liv is also a qualified English teacher. Fun fact: they met while teaching English in Spain!! She also has a range of admin, operations and customer service skills as she has worked in these industries for over 5 years. Alongside this, Liv has skills in archaeology and history, as she has bachelor's and master's degrees in these areas.

What else ...

We are both very spiritual people. Mitch is a Kadampa Buddhist and regularly attends the temple back home in Scotland. We love to look after our body and mind by meditating and doing yoga. In our free time, we love to cook and come up with new recipes, read, hike and play video games.
