UPDATED October 2022:
Hello all,
I am returning to workaway after a 4 year hiatus! In the summer of 2016 i travelled alone around the UK , France, and Spain, using a mix of couchsurfing and workaway, before studying for a year in England. After college I travelled alone again, workawaying at a hostel in Portugal, with a DIY building project in rural Spain, with a nomadic group in England, and with townhouse restorers and artists in Southern France.
For the last year now I have been living in a communal living situation in Seattle with four people I met on craigslist. We have chickens, cats, and a large garden where we are constantly trying new projects and constantly learning more and more about urban farming. Living with these people is a daily exercise in empathy, listening, honesty, mutual aid, and all the other great things that make a community lively and strong.
I'd love to take these values with me as I begin to travel again. In the four years since I have used workaway, I have seen how much my workaway experiences have shaped my values and goals. I would love to continue traveling to find people who are similarly excited to experiment with living styles and exchange stories and tips.
I don't travel for the tourist attractions as much as for the opportunity it gives me to meet all sorts of people and experience culture at its best (or worst! Worst is as enlightening). I am naturally drawn to the absurd and weird and funny, all of which I try to document in some form (usually through my budget camcorder).
I love a good conversation, but can also be a bit of a hermit. I am curious about so much and eager to learn new things, so when I am not among people I can easily busy myself with a project, or reading or writing. Also happy to play a piano whenever there is one available. I also enjoy poking around unfamiliar places, like churches, trinket stores and abandoned buildings. I'm never bored!
I'd be grateful to lend a hand in your personal life-improvement projects, whatever they may be.

A great house guest very quiet self contained and lovely to be with. Uber helpful and resourceful. I would love to see more of Mira!
He is a man of creativity and silliness and wisdom and much cabbage. The garden is thoughtfully maintained, with a good variety of fruit, veg, and herbs. There is always something to do, whether it be weeding or discussing with Miguel very seriously whether his future chicken coop should be pirate… read more
