Hey and hola, my name is Milena and I'm a traveller from Kiel, Germany:) I've just finished my second university degree and I'm now gonna be travelling parts of South America. Cant wait :) !!!
I would like to use my time over there to not only by travelling but really connecting with people, the environment, the culture and exchange different ways of living, thoughts and beliefs. I am looking to volunteer specifically in the field of conservation for now, both general environmental as well as animals.
I've been a vivid traveler, especially within the last 15 years, and love to see new places and meet new people. I have lived in multiple different countries within Europe and Africa. I am a very adventurous soul and I love new experiences. I would like to use my already established skills to help out and I'm always eager to learn new skills in all different fields! I am also looking forward to practicing my yet very limited Spanish. I'm an easy-going, very responsible and reliable person, communicative, a teamplayer, good at organizing and keeping calm in stressful situations and being flexible. I like to be active and outdoors, to spend time with family and friends but also to be in quiet sometimes and find tranquility in nature.

Outdoor/Conservation/Sustainability
-First and foremost, I love to be outside! It gives me so much peace. Hence I decided that I would like to use my energy to protect the environment (also career wise) and try to live more in symbiosis. Due to my two degrees in sustainability and the other being in environmental management, and volunteering at an environmental conservation project, I have some knowledge and experience with conservation, environmental rehabilitation and management. I am passionate about sustainability in all its forms and I am eager to learn more and do not have a problem at all getting my hands dirty.
- I love animals of all kinds (well maybe except mosquitos)! I have much experience with horses, cows, sheep, dogs, cats, rabbits etc. and know how to take care of them. I have been a horse-rider for around 20 years and have worked as a dogsitter while studying.

Project Management/Professional experience
- I have worked towards encouraging dialogue between research and practice. I have organized and supervised international conferences, workshops, both contentwise, organizational and IT wise and can lead in structure.
- I have created a start-up in the field of plastic recycling in the medical field in Germany (which we closed down though due to COVID)
- I am a qualified medical professional (but do not work in this field), hence know how to evaluate and lead a patient and could also advise or lend a hand here.

Sports
- I love all kind of sports especially outdoors and I have at least basic knowledge in a lot of them: watersports like swimming (being a lifeguard), very little surfing (which I would like to get better at), sailing (can sail a yawl (Jolle) and be part of a team sailing a yacht), motorboat ( I have a licence for the sea and rivers/lakes), SUP..), hiking, horse-riding (I have ridden horses for almost 20 years cross-country, dressage, show-jumping etc. and can give lessons to beginner children and adults), snowboarding etc. I love in general being active, but also to relax sometimes :)

Teaching and Languages
- I have been a tutor for high school students in the subjects of English and German and for university students in the medical field for many years and can help teaching to others or translate.

House/Kids/Cooking
- My friends and family say im quite good at cooking (only vegetarian and vegan) as well as baking. At home I cook every day.
- I am good with kids as well as with elderly people as I have a large greater family and I'm a certified youth leader.

Tourism/Hospitality/Social Media
- I have worked in the field of tourism as a guide for a conservation project, leading snorkelling trips and environmental education, as well as promoted tourism operators via social media channels and working as a barmaid.

I'm also eager to develop new skills:) If you explain me what you would like and expect, I'm sure I can be helpful in other tasks too!

But most of all I'm a sociable, reliable, responsible, flexible person and I enjoy good jokes and vibes :)
