Hello
After wonderful initial experience with volunteering on small homsteads via workaway a few years ago I decided to take a plunge and spend 2023 on further exploring off grid, sustainable ways of life in rural Spain and Portugal. My goal is to learn skills necessary to start my own transition to off grid, sustainable, self reliant living. For the last few years I grew some of my food in my back garden in London and I absolutely loved it. I'm passionate about anything related to gardening, getting my hands dirty working on the land (organic or permaculture informed).
I am also a passionate hiker and wherever I travel I always make time to do some rambling around.
I worked as a massage therapist in London for many years. I'm also studying Somatic Experiencing method so I may work in the field of trauma therapy. I have also a strong background in field ecology - many years working on various projects in the wild.
I am looking for volunteering opportunities on organic farms, eco-projects and retreat centres (meditation/yoga).

During my other volunteer works I helped with building a fence, building with stones and clay, picking almonds and hazelnuts, mulching, composting, planting, digging, laying wooden floors etc.
I cook daily for myself, mostly vegan food - I can make a decent daal, soups, veggie stews from scratch and my new discovery - arepas :)

I absolutley loved my 2 weeks stay at Javi's finca. The place is very quiet in the middle of the pine forest with a river at the border which is great for relaxing among trees or splashing when it gets hot. I had great time at Heidi's place where I stayed for a couple of weeks. She's a wonderful host, always making sure you're all right and your needs are met.
