Hello people out there :)

from August onwards I am going to make one of my dearest wishes come true. I will have 3 years in Australia on a work and holiday visa. Within those 3 years I am planning on making all my daydreams come true, here are some of them:

- becoming a certified dive master
- doing research dives and planting corals
- somehow meet Darren Jew my favourite underwater photographer
- teaching yoga and pranayama classes
- buying a 4x4 and drive through tracks in the outback
- try out all kinds of jobs to learn new skills (farming, construction, hospitality, animal care, you name it)
- learn more about cars and how to fix them
- work on my surfing, especially duck dives
- grow and harvest pineapples
- travel around islands
- dive with humpback whales
- publish my own journal

On the road I believe I will get to know beautiful people, to share stories and cultures with, I might teach you something new and I am also excited to learn something I did not know before from you.

I am keen to further improve my English, especially understanding Australian slang and ways to express myself verbally even better. In addition I can teach German, since it is my native language. I have been studying Spanish for 3 semesters at university, lost track a bit and would be interested to learn Spanish with someone also learning.

What else ...

Hello everyone,

you will soon notice that I am very much into writing, so I will use this space to tell you a little bit more about myself, where I come from, what I am passionate about and give you further insight into what I value most in life. Also, I would like to tell you why I have chosen to move to Australia on a Work and Holiday visa & what is on the cards for the next years.

First things first, my name is Michelle (named after the Beatles song) 26 years old, born and raised in a small town in Upper Austria. I grew up spending almost every winter in the mountains skiing and hiking, in summer we were mostly in Croatia on the boat we had, enjoying the crystal blue water.
My family used to move a lot it's going to be move 19 soon. We mostly lived on the country side and I have been living in the middle of the city for 3 years after university, which was a great time, however I prefer being surrounded by nature rather than buildings.

Here's what I have been doing before I decided to go back to Australia:
After graduating from high school I decided on taking a gap year, got on a plane to Australia and stayed there for 6 months traveling, visiting Japan, China and Indonesia. Followed by starting and completing a Bachelor´s Degree in Global Sales and Marketing, including a Semester Abroad on the Sunshine Coast, it had to be Australia again.
Started working in international sales for the automotive industry after that for almost two years, switched into the IT industry and started working for a digital service creator in business development, which I have been working with for more than 2 years now. Also holding service design workshops for customers there. I am a certified Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga teacher and have been teaching since January 2023 on weekends.
In addition to that I am an ocean addict as well as an advance open water diver & hold a motor boat license, which I would also like to get when in Australia.

Things I am passionate about:
I love sunshine and the ocean, from snorkelling, swimming, scuba diving to surfing and motor boats. I am all in. Music plays a huge role in my life, I play the guitar and like to sing - overly obsessed with indie rock and basically everything cruisy. I love to practice yoga and meditate and I am also very much into journalling. I do a lot of sports from skateboarding, hiking, strength and balance workouts to skiing and snowboarding. I am also a passionate vegan cook and love to try out new things. Call me in for smoothies or any kind of bowls.

Since this is getting pretty long already, here some more things that are important to me:
Time spent in nature and with animals, traveling, self development & reflection, good communication, humour and big laughs, having an open heart, treating everything and everyone with respect, good portion of adventure, family and friends, camping, good portion of willpower and dedication & last but not least an optimistic drive and spark in life.

What am I planning to do in Australia:
Arriving on 14th of August in Brisbane and looking for a place to work and stay for a month or so. I want to buy a 4x4 as soon as I have found a suitable car, in which I am planning to travel and live around Australia. The plan is not to plan & see what life has got for me. I want to focus on dive internships and also doing a dive master certification, to possibly be able to find a job in that area. Also I would like to work hands on, spend some time in the outback and gain new skills, such as working with tools, cars, animals, farms, building furniture, maybe also some renovation skills.
Also keen to teach yoga, plan community events, etc.

Basically, I want to live my dreams, work in areas I am passionate about, or learn new skills. I am a very hard worker and make sure that things get done & then like to enjoy life to the fullest. If by any chance you are growing pineapples, my dream is to grow and harvest a pineapple once or many times in my life :)
