I just finished my MA in sociology, I studied communities because that's what brings me joy! I love feeling connected to a network of people who all contribute special qualities and skills. Right now I'm looking to learn lots about smallholding, bushcraft, and all the different kinds of people and places I can. I am looking to learn more about gardening and permaculture, as well as skills like building sustainable houses and structures for keeping animals, bees, firewood and the like.

I have lots of experience in youth and community engagement and working with small children. (: Right now I am hoping to gain more experience in building (especially with natural materials) carpentry, and using tools, as I believe building together is how community naturally strengthens itself!
I know how to care for animals including horses, and I have experience with gardening and vegetable farming and I'm very much looking forward to learning more about growing plants.
I majored in English and Spanish in secondary school, I can help teach both languages to whoever is looking to learn. (:
I also give a good yoga/dance lesson if you're feelin froggy.

I love art and have a few years experience drawing, I can also mend and alter clothes if you have a sewing machine on hand. I am a really good interviewer and I interviewed musicians and artists for years so I'm a great conversationalist, especially if you are a music nerd! I'm a fellow writer to any authors out there looking for someone to bounce ideas off of, I love learning from storytellers and creatives in general. I am also looking to build my own home one day so any opportunity to assist with and learn about building and crafting for practical purposes I would be most enthusiastic about (especially with cob!)

Mel stayed for a couple of weeks and was a great help. She was specifically interested in getting some hands on experience working with natural materials in building and renovation so the timing was perfect for her as I was making a start on replastering some internal walls with mud and straw. She has an inquisitive nature and a lovely personality.
