Description
Hi, I‘m Maggie,a retired scientist & leader from the global healthcare industry. Having worked with people of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds in an innovative and sometimes challenging environment, I am a well travelled and experienced team-player. Mother of two wonderful sons in their 20’s, I have a friendly, open and creative personality, combined with a good sense of humor.
Luckily I now have the opportunity to travel at my own pace, taking the time to meet new people, embrace new cultures and ways of life, while making a valuable contribution to their environment, always learning along the way 😊
Doing this as a workaway volunteer is so enriching and impactful taking me to great hosts in Europe and Australia - ranging across an alpaca farm in Germany, a cultural center in France, a forest estate in Portugal, family in Spain and four wonderful hosts in Victoria & NSW, Australia. In addition, I help out on a family sheep farm in Ireland for a few months throughout the year.
During this new life phase, I‘ve helped and worked with wonderful interesting, kind and generous people, both volunteers and hosts, of different ages and backgrounds. Using my own skills and learning new ones, I was able to add essence and make a positive impact on the respective hosting environment, both for the hosts and their projects, as well as for fellow volunteers & travellers.
