Hi, I’m Maya! I’m an open-minded person who loves connecting with all different kinds of people. I enjoy learning from those who have different perspectives and experiences, as it helps broaden my understanding of the world. I’m looking forward to making new memories and learning about different ways of living and cultures. I’m always happy to learn new things and am excited to see what skills and knowledge I can learn from the people I’ll stay with. I’d love to explore new places while actively immersing myself in the local life there. This could be through helping out around the house and taking care of children (which I really love) physically working on ecological projects or teaching and sharing my knowledge in some way. I am open to helping with all different kinds of things and aspects of life at foreign destinations.

More details about my language interests
I’m always interested in learning new languages, and I’m especially interested in Japanese, Portuguese, French, and Italian right now. As a native German speaker who took advanced-level classes throughout high school, I’m able to teach German. Additionally, I can teach English, as I’m fluent and further improved my skills while living in Canada for a semester. Having taken advanced English courses, I also have insight into effective teaching methods.

Childcare & Education:
- I have experience working with children, having worked as an assistant teacher in a ballet class for young students. This has helped me develop patience, creativity, and leadership skills.
- As I’m in the last steps of graduating from a German advanced highschool, I’m familiar with academic challenges . I also have experience tutoring, and are especially well versed in the subjects biology, english and german but are also able to help with general schoolwork for middle school students and below.

- English – Fluent (C1/C2 level), further improved through a semester in Canada

Additional Skills:
- I’m comfortable preparing and cooking different kinds of meals and helping with kitchen tasks
- I possess basic sewing skills for small repairs and creative projects
- Over 15 years of experience with dancing, specializing in ballet but I’m also familiar with other styles

- I spent a semester in 11th grade in Canada, which not only strengthened my English skills but also gave me firsthand experience adapting to new cultures and environments.

In my free time, I love reading, especially romance novels. I also enjoy watching and discussing anime. Dancing is another one of my favorite activities, whether freestyling at events or taking classes. Spending time outdoors is also important to me, and I often go on long walks to relax.
Whenever I have the opportunity, I love to go skiing as well.
I have a deep passion for the arts and have taken singing and acting classes. Music plays a big role in my life—I’m almost always listening to something. Karaoke is one of my favorite ways to have fun, and I also enjoy photography and managing my Instagram.
Right now, my main focus is on school, but I always make time for my interests whenever I can!
