Hello! My name is Makayla, and I'm an anthropologist from the US. I have a deep appreciation for the beauty and complexity of life, with a desire to connect with others and to understand their experiences and perspectives. I often find myself going against societal norms in search of a deeper understanding and compassion for people, places, and things. Service is a big part of who I am and I am passionate about finding ways to serve others and make a positive impact in the world.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking and exploring new flavors. I also volunteer my time locally to the arts and education in the US, and abroad when I travel. I love being outdoors as much as possible--studying and being with nature, doing any outdoor activites, and spending time with others.
Some of my personal interests include photography (I enjoy meeting others and taking their portraits along my travels) I write poetry and narrative, and I love music -- dancing, singing, or playing the guitar. Music is very important to me, and I take pride in learning about traditional types from all over the world!

Overall, I am outgoing, helpful, hospitable, and I am willing to make the best during my time of volunteer. I hope to meet you soon! :)

I have a career background technology industry and the hospitality industry.

Hospitality: I have worked and opened a range of small hospitality businesses to luxury corporations.

In technology: I supported building products and software for young students to get the support they need when going to school. Mostly for underserved communities.

Soft skills: Easygoing, people-oriented, efficient and hard-working, great communicator, kind, motivated, willing and ambition to learn.


Hard skills: Efficient in CRM platforms, lead funnel and generation for business, marketing skills, technical and copywriter, project management and planning, social media, web design, hospitality, and serving.

Hi everyone!

I am a passionate traveler. I find meaning in serving others which is apparent in the kind of life I lead. I volunteer at Non-profits in my home country and my daily work also must find a way to do something for the greater good of others.

On the other hand, I enjoy reading, writing, and just conversations with others. Not to mention...I am a great baker. So if I am lucky enough to be a part of your stay, you just might have some tasty treats!

I love to dance! I currently dance Salsa, Bachata, Brazilian zouk, and Kizomba. I always loved expressing myself through moving.
