Description

Hi! My name is Markéta and I’m a 23-year-old student from Prague, Czech Republic. I study at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences, where I focus on animals, sustainability, and rural development. I was also lucky enough to spend one Erasmus semester in beautiful Valencia, where I am currently living.

I really enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and getting to know different cultures and of course, I never say no to trying local cuisine :) I already have several Workaway experiences.
I’ve stayed on farms in Spain and Austria, worked at a horse ranch in the Czech mountains, and most recently volunteered in Italy. Each of these experiences has made me even more certain that Workaway is always worth packing a backpack and trying something new, because it has always been fun and the memories are truly unforgettable.

I love opportunities to work in nature and usually have no problem with all kinds of weather. As a girl from Prague, I really enjoy escaping the city for a while. Being around animals makes me especially happy. And I’m also used to being in the company of our cutest ones , children, as back home I work part-time as a babysitter :)

Besides studying and babysitting, I work remotely for a non-profit organization focused on supporting the mental health of people who care for others such as nurses, educators, and those working with orphaned children, the elderly, or people with special needs, in short, people who help make the world a little better :)

I have no problem getting my hands dirty, and I’m always eager to learn new things, experience adventures, and meet new friends from all around the world :)

Since English is the key to meeting new people, I always like to learn a new words, practice speaking or help someone with english:) . Besides english it is always fun to try to speak some of the local language words or phrases.

Animal care – I love animals and have experience helping on farms and a horse ranch. I’m currently learning how to ride a horses and discovering how challenging but also amazing it can be. I’m always happy to feed, brush, cuddle, or clean up after animals:)

Childcare – I work as a babysitter back home and enjoy spending time with kids:)

Household help – I’m happy to help around the house with cleaning, organizing, and cooking simple meals (and I’m always open to learning new recipes, especially local meals! :))

I may not know everything, but I’m curious, open to learn, and not afraid to try new things. I love working with others and being part of a community or family.
