  • Description

Hello, my name is Marisa. I am 27 years old and live in Switzerland. Firstly, I would like to say something serious that is important to me. (After that comes the more cheerful part. Light-heartedness is also very important to me!) I am very lucky to have grown up in this small, rich country, in a place with a lot of security and freedom at the same time. At least as a female, white person without disabilities and with many other privileges. And it's even more fortunate that I can move around the world quite freely thanks to my passport and get to know other landscapes and their people. I don't take this for granted at all and think long and hard about whether, how and why I go on a trip. If I get on an aeroplane (and pollute the environment), I want to stay in this new place for as long as possible and treat the people and animals there with respect. The rights and dignity of people, animals and nature are very important to me. It is important to me to be able to talk about difficult topics and to hear other opinions and perspectives. (As long as I can speak the language well enough...) And it's just as important to me to enjoy all the little and big things in life. I love learning new things and meeting new people. I want to know how they bake their bread, how they give each other presents, how they dance, what songs they sing, what they laugh - and what they cry about.
Perhaps you can tell that I'm more of an extrovert? But don't worry, I can also be quiet sometimes. Because: I work as a freelance illustrator and create pictures for books and posters. (That's why I can organise my own working hours and not be at home for long periods). And I also work a lot with children and young people, at school, in the nature museum and in my free time. I know a lot about communal living and I'm involved in activism. I also have a lot of work experience with animals and farming. For five years I worked part-time at the zoo and gave guided tours for children. For several years now I have been going to the mountains for a few weeks or months in the summer to herd cows and cattle or milk goats. I need lots of exercise and fresh air - and of course food, warmth and a bit of sleep from time to time - so that I feel good. So I also like to jump around all day with children or goats or do some work in the garden or forest. I definitely have a lot of energy, a thirst for knowledge and humour to give away. And by the way, I love playing football! Okay, I think that's already more than enough information. See you soon.

Worked several times in agriculture and in the mountains: Herding and caring for goats, cows and cattle, milking goats. Lived in a community in a circus wagon for two years. We did a lot of building there with a wide variety of machines. I often enjoyed working on projects with children and young people. I studied illustration (visual communication) and have many creative skills. I cooked for large groups at various holiday camps and events.
