Description

Hello there! I'm Marina, 28 years old, from Germany - with a touch of Greece on my father's side. I'm an occupational therapist working in a neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation clinic, so I'm used to being patient, creative and adaptable. I've worked with people recovering from strokes, living with Parkinson´s, MS, dementia and other conditions, as well as supporting individuals with mental health challenges such as depression. Helping them overcome difficulties and and celebrate progress is what I'm most passionate about.
Outside of work, I'm a hands-on person: I enjoy gardening, light DIY projects and cooking (give me a recipe and I'll make it happen!). I've lived independently for 7 years, so I'm no stranger to running a household. I have a soft spot for animals (especially cats) and am happy to help care of them - though I'll politely pass on reptiles and spiders.
I´ve been playing football since I was a kid, enjoy sports in general, love exploring new stuff and believe humor makes everything better. People describe me as friendly, empathetic, reliable and easy to get along with. I love meeting new people, learn from others, experiencing different cultures, contributing wherever I can and hopefully leave each place a little better than I found it.
I´m excited to be part of a Workaway community and to grow from every experience.
