***BEN***
Hello everyone, I'm Ben, Marie's cousin, and I'm using her account for my 3-month trip to Mexico. I'm 28 years old, always happy to learn new things, very sociable, and very creative! I'm from Nantes and I work in urban planning in France. I'm available for volunteer work lasting 1 to 2 weeks, which would allow me to learn Spanish, as my level is basic. I can speak English, Portuguese, and French. I also worked in the hospitality industry for several years, so working in tourism also appeals to me. Looking forward to some great adventures together! :)

My name is Marie and I'm traveling to Brazil for 3 months. The aim of this trip is to meet people, cultures and nature. I was also lucky enough to take part in the Salvador Carnival at the very beginning of the trip, which allowed me to immerse myself in the musical and festive culture of Brazil.
I love music and I've had an artistic project for a few years now, which allows me to express myself. So I'd like to be able to enrich myself musically in Brazil, to understand the way they produce and share this art form.
I've always wanted to get closer to nature. The lack of nature in Paris makes me feel a real need to get back to basics. Understanding how to produce from A to Z what we eat, what we wear and what we live in is what drives me enormously. That's why the Workaway experience appealed to me so much right away: the opportunity to learn new practical trades, outside what I'd been able to explore in my studies and first jobs. The desire to get back to the land, back to nature, is what drives me.
I'm looking forward to discovering new skills and exchanging with others who are looking to live closer to nature and share their culture.
***Juliette***
Hello workawayers! My name is Juliette and I'm currently traveling in Brazil for 3 months. I've already been there for a month. I've always loved to travel, but lately I've been thinking about how to do it. That's why I registered on this site, to experience another way of traveling, closer to the people of this country and its abundant nature. I'd like this trip to be less punctuated by short-stay hostels and checkboxes for must-sees and must-dos.
As for me, I've been described as open-minded, empathetic and curious, qualities that go hand in hand with my profession as a designer. Speaking of my profession, I try to convey strong values about social justice and ecology through my projects.
Living in a very large city (Paris), I'm cut off from nature and what is naturally part of our environment.
I'm curious to learn new ways of doing and living, to answer the question I often ask myself: what do human beings really need?

***Marie***
Passionate about music, I've been a DJ for over 3 years and have worked in various associations in the fields of communication, logistics and production. This enabled me to gain skills in these areas and subsequently set up my own association whose aim is to organize frequent debates, talks and masterclasses around electronic music.
I love to travel to meet new people and cultures. I've been lucky enough to go away twice for 3 months on my own, which has enabled me to improve my language skills (English in particular) and learn to manage on my own in a country I don't know.
What's more, my uncle has a house in the country with several acres of land... which requires a lot of upkeep of the garden, the house inside and out. I've had the opportunity to help him with his vegetable garden, his chickens, cleaning the house, painting the walls, cooking ....

As a designer, I like to immerse myself in different realities. That's why I like to travel, to learn different visions and ways of approaching life. I also have the ability to adapt quickly to an unfamiliar environment, fueled in particular by my travel experiences. I like to learn from people, and my job is above all to conduct interviews so that I'm informed about the subject I'm studying. This has strengthened my active listening skills. I also listen to a lot of podcasts (about everything).
I'm full of imagination, which allows me to be creative in what I do. I like to dabble in everything, drawing, making my own decorations and making gifts for my friends, learning as I go. I'm also a member of a poetry club in Paris, which allows me to express myself. Occasionally, I sing accompanied by my ukulele.
I'm curious to learn about many subjects I don't master, and that's why I signed up! I'm always happy to help a community doing the good around it.
