Hello dear host,
welcome to my workaway profile — I wish you a lot of fun while browsing through it.
After half a year at EPFL in Lausanne, I'm looking forward to improving my French skills, and I am therefore looking for hosts who preferably speak mostly French. Maybe a family with kids to look after?
If you think your needs fit to my skills, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I am a 25-year-old from Germany, studying mechanical engineering (yes, although I'm a woman :D) in my Bachelors and now finishing my masters in sustainable and resource-efficient building (more direction architecture).
After finishing school in 2016, I discovered workaway first and since then I'm still extremely excited each time finding new interesting host. I can't think of a better and more intense way of travelling. In my opinion, no 5-star hotel can compete with the wonderful encounters I had during my workaway stays till now.
Besides my studies, I'm quite involved in my student house. We are 23 Flatmates who are sharing one kitchen — can indeed be challenging — and even more important: renovating and managing the house on our owns. I'm therefore used to all basic renovating stuff (painting, building furniture & walls, etc.). After school, I did an intern in a Classic car garage, so I am not afraid of engine oil or similar too.
In my free time I play violin in an orchestra, I enjoy photography — especially analog —, go hiking, skiing, or climbing. I love to babysit. I have a smaller sister and a brother, so children were always a part of my life. Besides looking after them (I prefer some outdoor stuff or reading a book rather than hanging in front of a TV), I can help with homework (e.g. math, German, English, etc.) or teach some violin basics.
I enjoy good books, warm summer nights and flea markets. I'm spontaneous.
I like to be on my own sometimes.
You will find me in the kitchen every now and then, cooking some Mediterranean food (mostly vegetarian, but not always) or baking cakes and bread. Also, for more than 10 people if needed.
I hope to meet inspiring people on my travels, improve my language skills and learn anything you are able to teach me.

bienvenue sur mon profil workaway - je vous souhaite beaucoup de plaisir à le parcourir.
Après une demi-année à l'EPFL à Lausanne, j'ai hâte d'améliorer mes compétences en français, et je cherche donc des hôtes qui parlent de préférence principalement le français. Peut-être une famille avec des enfants à garder ?

J'ai 25 ans et je viens d'Allemagne, j'étudie l'ingénierie mécanique (oui, bien que je sois une femme :D) en licence et je termine maintenant mon master en construction durable et économe en ressources (plus direction architecture).
Après avoir terminé l'école en 2016, j'ai découvert workaway pour la première fois et depuis lors, je suis toujours extrêmement enthousiaste à chaque fois que je trouve de nouveaux hôtes intéressants. Je ne peux pas imaginer une façon de voyager meilleure et plus intense. À mon avis, aucun hôtel 5 étoiles ne peut rivaliser avec les merveilleuses rencontres que j'ai faites lors de mes séjours workaway jusqu'à présent.
En dehors de mes études, je suis très impliquée dans ma maison d'étudiants. Nous sommes 23 colocataires à partager une cuisine - ce qui peut être difficile - et, plus important encore, à rénover et à gérer la maison par nous-mêmes. J'ai donc l'habitude de tous les travaux de rénovation de base (peinture, construction de meubles et de murs, etc.). Après l'école, j'ai fait un stage dans un garage de voitures classiques, donc je n'ai pas peur de l'huile de moteur ou d'autres choses du même genre.
Pendant mon temps libre, je joue du violon dans un orchestre, j'aime la photographie - surtout analogique -, je fais de la randonnée, du ski ou de l'escalade. J'adore faire du baby-sitting. J'ai une petite sœur et un frère, les enfants ont donc toujours fait partie de ma vie. En plus de m'occuper d'eux (je préfère les activités de plein air ou lire un livre plutôt que de rester devant la télévision), je peux les aider à faire leurs devoirs (mathématiques, allemand, anglais, etc.) ou leur enseigner les rudiments du violon.
J'aime les bons livres, les chaudes nuits d'été et les marchés aux puces. Je suis spontanée.
J'aime me débrouiller seule de temps en temps.
Vous me trouverez de temps en temps dans la cuisine, en train de préparer des plats méditerranéens (la plupart du temps végétariens, mais pas toujours) ou de faire des gâteaux et du pain. Aussi, pour plus de 10 personnes si nécessaire.
J'espère rencontrer des personnes inspirantes au cours de mes voyages, améliorer mes compétences linguistiques et apprendre tout ce que vous pourrez m'enseigner.
