Croatia - from Sep 2025 until Oct 2025 View allDescription
I am currently experiencing my gap year before I go to university. I love to hear about people’s lives and jobs and various opinions, as it gives me a wider outlook on knowing the type of life I myself want to lead. I have always wanted to travel and meet people from all over the world and now I finally have that opportunity which I am very happy about and grateful for.

More details about your skills
I graduated high school with excellence endorsement (highest level in New Zealand) and got a scholarship in English, so I have a good understanding of the English language. Music is very important to me, and I have passed my grade 8 violin exam with distinction. I love learning new things everyday and would love for people to share their experiences with me.
As for work experience, my first job was at McDonald’s. I then got a job making samosas for a very kind Hindu community shop, which I found a very peaceful job. After that, I worked at Burger King which is my most recent job. Through all of this I have learnt cleaning, food safety, and learning how to talk to people in a positive way, even if the situation is negative. I am very grateful for my experiences in these jobs as I have learnt about people from all walks of life, and feel as a result I developed an open mindset.
I was also part of Sistema, a free music program for all children. In this program I gained a lot of volunteer experience from teaching the younger children music, from reading and writing, to playing and performing. A lot of these kids were struggling at home, so it was not always about teaching them music but creating a safe space for them to experiment confidently with no judgement. I gave private violin lessons as well and it made me so happy for a student of mine to finally achieve something they had been working towards. This work is very meaningful to me and I really enjoy it.Age
